My first choice is to trade down no matter who is left on the board. If a trade down is not an option and both Bosa and Allen are on the board then Mac will have a decision just about as easy as last year. You take Bosa and check edge rusher off your list of needs.
Bosa gets the hype because his brother is a 10-15 sack guy and he’s the same exact player. His frame and hickness translates well to being able to push the pocket with power + technique is simply better than Allen. I’m not opposed to Allen, but when I watched his combine, I saw a stiffer athlete than I was expecting. I know I’m in the minority but I sort of like Montez Sweat more as a prospect.
I'm definitely more for Allen, but Bosa would be an excellent choice as well. I'm not for trading down unless both those guys are off the board and we can still get Sweat. The fact of the matter is we NEED a pass rusher. Absolutely need one. We're not going to beat the Patriots unless we get a guy who can scare Brady.
Agree, my previous post said if we can’t get Bosa, then we try to move back for either Metcalf or Sweat in 6-10 range if possible.
Why trade down ? You're going from a can't-miss prospect to a guy who will be OK/Good at best plus a #2 pick which we haven't exactly lit up the board with under MM.
pick your poison Macc either sees Quinnen Williams as BPA and pairing him with Leo, Gregg Williams includes a collapse-the-middle of the pocket package (pushing the QB off his spot) esp. with Mosley now lying in wait nearby. If nothing else it'd be pretty tough sledding trying to run against that trio, . or, He goes the safe route with Josh Allen thinking how nice it would be to hear about Josh Allen smacking the living piss out of Josh Allen . @BuffaloPhysco . .
Well for one thing I don’t think anyone in the draft is can’t miss. Great players can be picked anywhere in the draft, it’s silly to suggest that we would only get an ok player if we traded back. We would get a lot more than just a 2nd and I’d like to see the Jets stockpile picks.
