For the last few days i have felt during the game that this team was capable of coming back and winning late. It's been some time since i had that confidence
I'm hoping Aceves can be relied upon in the pen for the long-term. Bruney coming back will be a definite boost... If the lineup can find some consistency, we will be in good shape.
I hate to be a killjoy here, but I'm not sure I like these come-from-behind victories so much. With this lineup and pitching rotation we should have way more convincing wins.
I'm not too worried, at this pt im just glad we're winning games. Usually the Yankees don't wake up til around game 40 so it should be a sign of things to come. And the Twins are a good team too
i agree. these are wins we should have had from the beginning. I don't like the fact it takes us about 6 innings to score our first few runs.
I'm of two minds with these wins. On the one hand, we should be establishing early leads and getting runs in, especially when we're not facing top-tier pitching. On the other, this is how you win playoff baseball. It's not about getting out to early leads, it's about having the confidence, and the desire to play until the last out is recorded. This team is getting to bullpens and sitting on pitches. That's how you manufacture runs, and it's a critical team trait to win games against the best teams. Even more important though, and it's something we've all been ignoring (myself included) is the bullpen! Overall lately, this pen has been getting the job done. That's huge. Hopefully Bruney will be back soon as well, and we'll really get this pen moving. Wang pitched 7 scoreless yesterday on four hits. According to Cashman his sinker wasn't as sharp as his last outing, but Wang said it felt good, and he got 12 ground ball outs. Bruney started the second game and gave up one run. Cashman said he "looked healthy." Hopefully we can get those two back soon at full strength. Then we wait on Posada, and this team just might get scary.

I definetly agree that it would be better if the Yankees were dominating from the start,but i think it's good to see the yankees coming back,gaining confodence and having fun again.
