    I can't believe they did it. I had to leave in the 8th to go pick my kids up. This is the type of thing that i don't expect from the Yankees anymore. Lets take another series!

    Perhaps I didn't explain myself fully enough. Yes, the Yankees were patient, to start innings. That's why they got so many runners on base in the first place.

    The problem was, as is so often the case with this team, that once runners are on base, everyone swings like they want to be the hero. That's why I'm always so impressed when this team manufacturers runs. Because it's such a novel idea to this team.

    That's why I was so impressed with the bottom of the ninth yesterday. It's exactly how this team should play. If this lineup uses patience with runners on base they will score runs in bunches. That's how this team was able to wear down pitchers for years and chase starters before the 7th. That's how you get to bullpens early and often and win series.

    And if that doesn't make sense to you, I'm sober, and I really don't give a shit.
