Hughes has four pitches. Four seamer, cutter, curve, and change. They just never call for the change, apparently. It's been good when he's used it.

But, yeah, I'm all for letting Hughes figure shit out in the minors if Wang is back.

I don't know if it felt much like things were different going into the bottom of the ninth. The ninth was completely different from the rest of the game. Except for Matsui's strike three, everyone was patient at the plate, which is something no one on this team seems able to do under pressure, hence so many double-digit LOB. If this team would just be patient at the plate and wait on their pitches, they'd score a lot more runs.

I guess I'll have to agree with you and Cappy. Sending Phil back to Scranton to figure out his stuff is probably the best thing to do, as long as Wang is alright.

The biggest thing that was different besides the 9th is the BP kept the game winnable...very much so actually. And of course you send Hughes back for Wang.....I mentioned 2 weeks ago that you were getting a little ahead of yourself talking about trading Wang or moving him to the pen.....relax bro.

You make a good point with the pen. With the exception of the homer Coke gave up, the pen was pretty damn good, even Albaladejo and Veras.

The lineup still worries me though. This team should score a lot more runs, regardless of the pitching against them. It's all discipline.

Dude, Liriano walked six guys. All of those walks were part of WHY the Yanks left so many guys on base. The Yanks were plenty patient. They saw a lot of pitches. Maybe they weren't as selective as they could have been in some situations, but they weren't up there hacking, either.

In fact, you could even argue that the game was won on the one situation where a Yankee hitter (Melky) did go up there hacking at the first pitch.

I'm also really drunk... so if this doesn't make sense, then fuck you.
