New Gameplan: Calvin Pryor must annihilate the opposing teams 2 best receivers, thus making all matchups 3rd stringers vs 3rd stringers.

Maybe that's Idzik's plan all along.

Rex has gotta call zone or double team the best receivers, no more "islands" for him. Seeing those all out blitzes that he did in last week ain't gonna cut it.

As for Idzik, he gambled and lost here. I'm guessing he would rather fail by underpaying than sign big contracts and ask questions later like Tannybum. Having what should probably be considered a #2 cornerback in Dee Milliner and 4-5 "#3 corners" duke it out in a "competition" isn't addressing the problem, it's simply putting it off until next year. IMO next year is going to determine whether bringing in Idzik was the right move or not.

Can we still trade for Joseph ? That would give me a warmer fuzzier feeling,,,,,,if anyone says they are happy with Wilson , Walls and Milner and a high ankle sprain ,,,,,and anyone else on the roster is whistling in the graveyard

    Not necessarily.

Athletes have said that sometimes a clean break is better and preferred, rather than a high sprain because the sprain takes forever to heal and it lingers; a break has a definitive rehab procedure and heals fully.

We saw Cro play with a nagging injury, and look what happened. It would suck if Milliner is nagged by this thing all season.

This team is building for the future. I'd rather give an opportunity to a guy like Walls. With McDougle hurt and Patterson struggling/hurt. I hope Wilson and/or Walls step up and take the number 2 CB spot.

Training camp roster cuts have yet to happen, hopefully a CB the Jets would be interested in gets cut if need be.

It goes both ways. Lose Milliner for the season with a broken ankle, has surgery, and could linger for the rest of his career.

Lose Milliner for a couple months with a sprain, recovers, could linger for the rest of his career.

You never want it to be a break in sports. Never. Breaking a bone usually requires surgery and an entire year off from football. Long recovery that has no guarantee.

Certainly not good news about Milliner but I'll take it given what happened to McDougle.

Milliner can recover from a high ankle sprain. Cro had a hip injury that may have needed surgery or a long-term rehabilitation process.

Though, one of Milliner's best assets is closing speed.

I'll take my chances with Milliner at 75 percent over Wilson/Walls/Patterson as our number 1 CB at 100 percent.

Plus if an injury like this is going to happen I'd prefer it to happen 30 days until the start of the season instead of during the season.

Milliner will have time to recover.

Actually it is better a brake then a torn achilles tendon like what. Mcdougle got. Your achilles stretch and can stay that way as to a brake can heal once you put the brake back and let it reform into one solid bone. Amazing how bones can just brake and heal the way they do.

Maybe in the big picture a break is better than a strain but in the time frame picture , being out 3-4 weeks compared to being out a year is no comparison.

Like I said before, even if Milliner doesnt play at 100 percent anytime during this season he is still better than any of our other CB's at full strength. Maybe guys step up and surprise , that would be great. But you should never go into a season counting on that to happen. Just gotta look at it as a bonus.

If Milliner broke something today I wouldnt be thinking good thoughts because maybe next training camp he'll be 100 percent. How many guys come back from ACL tears just to tear it again. There's a reason its called injury prone.

Hopefully this isnt a continuing trend for either of these guys.

We're talking about two different things. We are all talking about a break as opposed to a sprain with an ankle. Very few things compare to a torn Achilles tendon. That's a brutal injury, although Laron Landry healed nicely from his.
Exactly. Even with a break there is a high amount of uncertainty in coming back the same. In our position, a sprain was great news. Out temporarily and if it was a minor sprain, he should heal nicely.

This is bad but could have been worse. I do feel bad for McDougle though. I would definitely bring in a CB via free agency or after roster cuts though. We will see what the Jets do.

I'm not understanding how this relates to Idzik's free agency. Well actually I do understand it because there has been an influx of reactionary fools on this board lately. I would understand the Idzik hate if these guys were playing poorly. But they got injured. Anybody Idzik brought in could've gotten injured as well so what's the solution? Sign Davis, Verner and Revis in case someone gets hurt?

People will argue that these guys were injury prone and that's true with McDougle but Millner has rarely missed games in his career (if ever). Injuries can happen out of nowhere and unfortunately for the Jets it happened to two players at a weak spot. Just look at Revis tearing his ACL on a non contact play two years ago. Then again people won't bring that up because for some inane reason people will dump on Idzik in his second year. A year after the Jets drafted the DROY with the pick Idzik got for Revis.

This really sucks for McDougle. He was my favorite pick from this draft and it just sucks that he's been having these big injuries derail his career. Especially considering it's been freak injuries as opposed to lingering conditions. Kid's got a lot of talent if he can just stay healthy
