I understand that there are some cause for concern. But Walls was solid last year and Wilson was solid on the outside in 2012. The situation really isn't that bleak. Milliner probably will be back in time for week 1. In recent years the Jets have gotten solid contribution from guys they threw in the fire. Last year Harrison, Allen and Davis were given increased roles and they all were solid at best and are still improving. Who's to say that Walls couldn't make a huge leap this year? Who's to say that Wilson couldn't play well on the outside. Before we panic let's see how these guys look first.

On another note this is another reason why I like Allen a lot. He's so versatile. We could potentially have an outstanding safety duo.

Was bouncing between FAN and Espn a little while ago and they had on Brian Costello ,,the other had Cannizzarro,,,,,they said due to the swelling in Milners leg/ foot he has not had an MRI yet,,,,that being said I hope he heals fast and there is no ligament or tendon damage,,,,the X-ray showed no break but this could be worse than a high ankle sprain

Yea there was no MRI. That being said, the team is still going to plan on being without Milliner for a little while. I wouldn't expect Milliner to be comfortable until the half season mark if all goes well. He could starter earlier, but I'm sure the injury would nag him.

Jets needed to formulate a solution for not having Milliner anyways. Imagine Milliner gets hurt midseason instead....then they can't do as much. At least in preseason he has some time to heal, Rex and Idzik can look for some CBs on the market, and try to formulate a better long-term solution.

As unfortunate as the situation was, it highlighted the issue that is now being addressed. Jets will now have a backup plan in place for these kind of things.

People say Wilson played well last year, but I don't see him playing outside in man coverage. His ceiling can't be much higher than what we have seen from him so far. Same for Walls. He's just not that good.

Assuming the Jets don't get lucky with someone else's camp cut, the best they can hope for is Milliner does not miss regular season games and is healthy, that Patterson avoids injury and that Wilson holds down the slot. Allen at Cb could be a sometime thing, but I doubt he ends up impressing at playing Cb.

Except that Wilson played well on the outside in 2012. Proving that he is capable. Before we scour some other teams camp cuts I'd rather see what we have in our guys.
