Zach plays well and we win this Sunday, you'd better believe everyone wears shirt like that. This could be the best case scenario: Zach actually plays great after the reset for the rest of the season and play-offs and we found our QB1 with very high ceiling, like we hoped all along. We also re-sign White to a much smaller contract than he would have demanded if he started the rest of the year. Time for Zach to step up!
Here's the thing. If this is Zach' second chance he better make the most of it. There will be little wiggle room for a third chance, even after an offseason. The problem is, its not likely he had the time to fix his issues, which isn't really fair to him. And, its not likely the locker room has had enough time to warm up to him either. This game could be a lot of things, including the final act in Zach's Jet career. If he goes out and plays poorly to a cascade of boos, its all but over for him as a starter in Jet'ville after this season. He has way more to lose than he has to win in this situation. This is a watershed moment for both Zach and our future. I wish him the best of luck and hope we pull out a win.
This is as SAME OLD JETS as it gets. My expectation is they lose, spiral downward and lose 3 out of the last 4 games because they are the Jets. BUT, Maybe, JUST MAYBE, the football gods have decided that we jets fans have done our penance and this is Zachary Kapono Wilson's time to shine! He will part the "light blue and silver sea" that is the Detriot Lions and lead us to the promised land!
Long time Jets fans, how does this scenario sound? Zach plays eh, not really very good but not terrible. Jets win 2 of the next 3 based off of good defense, so the last game against Miami is a win and in scenario in which we blow of course. Jets brass decides to roll another year with Zach based of the so called “improvement” only to prove what most of us already suspect and the 2023 season is bust as well. Jets go back to square 1 for 2024.
They are bottom 7 in the league stopping the run, 2nd most points surrendered per game , 2nd most in total yards given up per game, 3rd most in passing yards surrendered. I'm thinking that Vikings game was an anomaly.
Seems to me that plenty of QBs have had worse rib related injuries than Mike has suffered and were able to play with flak jackets. Is there any reason why he could not have been cleared to play with a flak jacket (assuming the jacket would not impede his throwing motion) ??? This also has to raise serious questions about Mike's long term outlook as this is now the second time he was poise to take over as QB1. No matter how tough he might try to be, he now hasnt lasted more than a couple of games twice. His stationary style makes him a big injury risk no matter how well he might play when healthy.
I don't want to be super dramatic, but is it fair to say that this could be Zach's last chance? If he plays awful, he'll be booed off the field and the Jets will immediately jump back to Mike White. I don't see how he comes back from that. He's being put in a winnable game, with some pretty serious playoff implications. We've seen how White has looked with the same playcalling/OL play the last few weeks, so that shouldn't be much of an excuse. I'm nervous, and not feeling great about Zach, but I'm pulling for him. The best problem for the Jets to have is for Zach and White to both be great.
Playing with house money Zach. At least he seems loose and excited. That is until he throws the first pass at his receivers feet more then once, and the crowd lets him have it. Also, run forward not backwards Zach.
Strevler needs to be the QB. We need to see what we have with him. If Wilson goes down for whatever reason, it would be a great opportunity for the Jets to see Strevler vs real competition. I think he do well. Maybe Jets are scared to make a 3 way QB battle?
