around this board not inside Jets 1 drive. So many what ifs, it was a no brainer starting White for this game. We are the only Franchise fanbase that is willing to dump our 2nd overall pick after 7 games . I hope White does great but I think a lot will be out of his control against the number 1 defense and our defense playing as bad as it is.
You and I don’t see the same things when we watch film. That was made crystal clear during the draft process and since. And that’s OK.
I think Bellicheat would dump a 2nd overall pick in a hot minute if he thought he had a better option. Do you disagree?
I agree with you regarding Saleh. He's worried about his job, after all. I don't agree that JD or the Johnsons will see it that way. Even though Saleh might want to keep starting White, I think JD will overrule him.
I may be taking a hiatus from this board too. The negativity here and I just don't agree with many of the posters here on their philosophy or what they think is the right/best/wisest course of action. It's not much fun any more.
I agree regarting Bellicheat, but I don't think there are a lot of owners, GMs or other HCs who would do that, unless he was just flat out a bust/awful, and that's not the case with Zach.
I seriously doubt he’s worrying about his job less than half a season into a 5 year deal. He may just really be the best player plays type coach. They exist.
Zach Wilson is the QB of the future for the Jets. I am still not even sold on Mike White as being his back-up, due to how fragile he is. My hope is that White can continue to play well, let Wilson learn, and then hand over the reigns when the time is right. Maybe next week against Miami or the following week against Houston. If White somehow continues to play at a Hall of Fame level, keep letting him start until the Jets are officially out of playoff contention. Wilson still needs reps to continue the learning process in 2021.
Some of guys in here treat disagreements as negativity. I suggest that those that do not like negativity don’t jump in mid discussions w/o context calling posters “haters”. That approach tends to breed negativity in my experience.
He most definitely underrated Fields. Had him going last pick of round 1, even had Mond ahead of him. For most on this board though it was Zach and Fields as a close call. I still think both will be good. We just have to wait for a few weeks for Zach to play again and show progress, which I believe he will. Another benefit of sitting this week is that he will have two weeks of practice after injury break, not just one. I do expect Zach to start against Miami and put together a solid game showing a lot of progress.
You spent an entire month discrediting Chris Sims and now you're going to use him to support your case? Let me ask you something. Do the parishioners at the Church of Fields brainstorm all the excuses you're coming up with? Or is this all you Wilson is bad bad. Fields is good bad. I think I have it now!
I never discredited him. I only discredit the permeated belief on TGG that his word was Gospel. Also I’m not using him to support any case. I’m laughing at him that he already has to admit he was wrong about Fields not even half way into the season. Fields and Wilson are not sides of a coin. One doesn’t have to be bad in order for the other one to be good. You can’t be that simple minded or can you?
I agree. They are both pretty bad right now. And at some point I think they will both be pretty good.
The same QB that hasn't won a game without Sean McVay telling him exactly what to do play in and play out? That guy is far from a success story.
someone said dump Zach? anyway... i was not fire lafluer nor am i worrried if they keep zachon the bench while white plays well and we compete... or if they just stick zach back in for Phins... theres sense in either of those paths
I'm seeing this take more lately. I don't fully get It. Wilson Is literally hurt right now. He has missed several games. He had injury concerns coming out of college. I'm not sure why everyone Is acting like Mike White Is made of glass and Wilson Is some iron man right now. It's really confusing me.
Wilson took a major ass kicking his first few games, especially the first game against the Panthers. When he finally got hurt is was because of a dirty hit and it was his knee. Doesn't matter who you are, a knee is a knee. White has been hurt on seemingly harmless contact.
