that being said, there are a number of people on these forums who would be doing similar things if it were the Jets at fault, because they're gigantic homers. Be happy with your team's success. Fine. Just know that they're a bunch of dirty cheaters. There's no disputing that.
No? How about advocating playing dirty and doing whatever it takes to injure a player on the other team. You were one of the strongest advocates for playing dirty and taking cheap shots at Brady to hurt him or, if you're lucky, end his career. Read what you just wrote again and tell me again how you "never done it and never could". Your morale high ground here is non-existent. You WOULD be completely and blindly biased from the Jets point of view.
1. I'm certain that you didn't take that out of context in any way at all. It sounds perfectly plausible that Matt Light said he wants to be considered a cheating asshole by his peers. First off, no you wouldn't. While the Pats have done some shady things (see Spygate) I think a lot of the complaints come from players who are jealous of the fact they they win so often and are bitter (see Hines Ward). You can't just look at what the Patriots players are so often accused of doing and just say "omg cheaters ***" without looking at the context of what players in the NFL do as a whole. Guys are assholes to each other on the field. Get over it. Unless it directly effects the outcomes of the games theres no use discussing it.But I guess maybe you'd rather root for a team of guys that donate tons of money to charity, have cured AIDS and never EVER hit late after the whistle but can't read a coverage to save their life and suck at football. All of the hatred towards the Patriots from opposing players and opposing fans is rooted in the Pats success. Now, while that doesn't mean that all of their claims are automatically false it does mean that they won't let reality get in the way of their claims that the Pats are dirty cheaters, regardless of how valid or invalid their complaints have become.
Why dont you pats nut buffers just say: "We're 18-0!!! We Dont Care!!! " That's basically what you're saying anyway
The patriots are not the first winning team. The other winning teams were not hated as much as the patriots because they did not run up the score like the pats did at the end of the game when they up by thirty or more points. Nor did they do what the patriots did in San Diego last year. Ladanian Tomlinson is a classy guy and he spoke up. When other teams had complained about the patriots taping the signals, it was just a rumor and would have been dismissed as being envious or jealous of the pats until they had the video camera confiscated at giants stadium. Remember that they to bring security in to pry the videocamera from the patriots. If fans are not supposed to talk about the dirty hits by the patriots, maybe we shouldn't watch any more games. You can talk about anything you see on the field. You saw the article about the patriots jamming and stealing the radio signals in sports illustrated. I heard on CBS and NBC that the league was looking into the patriots using different frequencies than what they were assigned. Nothing was said about that ever again. Spygate would have been dismissed like hatred for the patriots winning record had they not confiscated the camera. Look at all the other teams that won superbowls who are not hated. Maybe is because they didn't cheat, disrepect and try to hurt the other teams and players? What do you think? Look at belichick refusing to shake hand with Mangini after a game and one time knocking over the cameraman. How can you like someone like that?
We have given them the chance to defend cheating in the form of spygate and jamming and stealing the other team's signals, trying to intentionally hurt and take out the other team QB, dissing San Diego in their own stadium, dissing a head coach and shoving a photographer. Not to be forgotten that they were trying to make Mangini to be the bad guy because he turned them in and make Belichick into the victim. I guess you can expect this kind of behavior from the people up in Boston who keep electing someone who let a girl die to the US for senate. If (Tubby) Ted Kennedy didn't have anything to do with the girl's death, he certainly didn't clear his name did he? Such a cloud of suspicion should end anyone's political career. We had our own Tubby Ted here but we sent him on his way just for not being able to coach the defense well enough.
You know what? You are right. New Englanders universally disrespect everyone out of the region and the football team is a full of a bunch of dirty cheaters. Now that we all agree we never need to make a new thread about it because that would be like making a thread saying "gee neo-nazis sure are mean."
Is there anything I said that isn't true? I was only talking about the Patriots. As far as Ted Kennedy getting elected to the Senate for life, I like to say that although he keeps getting the majority of the votes, not everybody has voted for him. So what I said doesn't apply to everybody, just the majority. Chappaquiddick ended Ted Kennedy's chances of being elected US president because most people outside of Massachusetts would have voted against him. He would have been an automatic president because of his name had it not been for Chappaquiddick.
