THE BOLD is simply laughable. So a good GM will alter his board and expend more resources that he DOESNT have to prevent someone from potentially jumping the gun on a pick you like. So he should have moved up what 2-3 spot for that? All this without even knowing how he had ranked the board. So you overpay for your pick by plenty and forego a better pick because is not a position of need. That is absolutely not the way to build a team. If that was the case it could apply to every single move on the first two rounds by every team. Absolutely insane. You end up burning resources and overpaying for picks and forego of a better option.. You built your board and stick to your board. You only move up or down when the board is favorable to you, not OUT OF FEAR. With the exception of the OL and the loss of AR, this team is unbelievably talent thanks to sticking true to the board.
Zach had a $10MM cap hit this year whether the Jets cut him or not. Adding another high end vet backup QB to the mix to go along with Aaron and Zach would be a lot against the cap. I am sure Aaron wanted the team to invest their resources elsewhere. Agree though that next season it’s non-negotiable. Ideally I want a first round QB given the draft is supposed to be so good.
He’s starting this week. Cowherd made the point about the draft swap costing the Jets a left tackle on his show on Thursday.
Nova, listen to yourself: c’mon, if 80’sJets wants to be a Jet-bashing troll then like it or not that should be their prerogative because after all this is the United States where free speech—thank goodness—is a constitutionally protected right. At the same time I would only hope our highly esteemed and venerated mods extend to ‘us’ the same latitude when we look to (figuratively speaking) de-pants these stupid phuckwits. Be it here or in some other thread they invariably suck donkey dick so why not remind these obnoxious self-absorbed bags of toxic farts that they suck donkey dick? ; -)
Again, how should JD have done it, move up 2-3 slots, over pay plenty with a second at least out of fear, for a back up OT that would not start over Becton at left. Mean time next year when Lawson is gone we already have his replacement. I'm not denying that OL is a weak link, but you do not over reach in the draft especially with your first two picks to try to band aid the problem.
On the subject of unmasking and de-panting the drive by trolls. Is it my imagination or we have seen a few more trolls than usual emerge on this site since the arrival of AR.
So you think Foles and Wentz suck, then advocate for them to sign Flacco?? Are you out of your fucking mind?? Were you not watching the last two seasons?
If Zach plays well, then mods should ban him. But no matter how jerky a guy is, you can't ban him if he turns out to be right.
I agree that 2024 the jets need to draft a QB early in the draft. I doubt Douglas will do that, however. No matter how bad Zach plays in 2023, Douglas is so damn determined to prove Zach was a good pick, he will keep Zach for the final year of his contract. With Rodgers likely coming back, Douglas will believe it unlikely Rodgers could get injured two years in a row, and will talk himself into keeping his prize pick Zach "only as the backup " The 49ers traded three 1st round picks for QB Lance in the same draft the jets took Zach. When they saw him suck, they moved him for a 4th round pick. THAT is what good teams do--admit the draft error and salvage something, instead of living in a world of denial. Zach has been the worst starting QB in the NFL the last two years. In the Buffalo game, he threw the ball right to Milano who was one of THREE defenders standing there. Good grief!
Neither does the guy we picked. And the guy we picked is farther down on the depth chart and is two years older. I mean, what's done is done, but Zach is what he is. Nothing personal against Zach, but he's already lost 4 times to the Patriots. Couldn't Douglas have signed a Teddy Bridgewater type player as Rodgers' insurance, instead of Zach? Hope I'm wrong, but looks like a repeat of last year.
The Jets aren’t going anywhere with Teddy Bridgewater either. In fact Zach beat and outplayed him head to head last year. Bridgewater was terrible in Miami.
No he didn’t actually. Bridgewater got knocked out on Miami’s first drive and Skylar Thompson took over and got blown out.
That’s right! But he also got hurt a couple of times last year. He had that really bad knee injury early in his career so doubt his body can hold up 16 games.
Should I read that like you think the jets ARE going somewhere with Zach Wilson, the NFL's worst QB the last two years? Not my opinion, but by NFL rankings. And, as I recall, Teddy was knocked out of the game by Sauce shortly after it started, not "outplayed" by Zach.. I don't think Zach has "outplayed" many, if any, NFL QBs, like you say. Hey, I hope I'm wrong, but IMO Zach is not the answer. Playing him another year is not fair to the other players. When he passed for a whopping 77 yards last year against NE, Zach was asked if he let the defense down. As I recall, his answer was "no, no." Sounds like a man happy with his effort.
Yeah thats why they kept Wilson and Let Mike White go, we are going to be regretting this decision miserably when the Cowgirls and Patriots pummell this headcase into the ground and ruin his mental state once and for all and there's not even a average qb out there.
