I'm pretty sure it was the Redskins, and they didn't do much, which is surprising.

    this should be fun...

okay uniform bomber where is my logic wrong on this one?

other than the obvious, they wouldnt have drafted those guys blah blah blah, williams wasnt good till he left the saints blah blah blah... we all know ditka was a tard for that move, i dont even think he denied it. however looking at it now i would imagine that one could surmise looking at the only thing you can actually look at that rick'y williams is in fact still a better player than everyone traded for him.

you could do the same thing for herschell walker being traded to the vikings, only the results would be completely backwards. that is the only other trade that i have ever seen take place that was as bad of an idea as the rick'y williams trade.

Charley Casserly went on a trade binge with the acquired picks, swapping several of them - including the 12 pick in '99 - to the Bears and then making other moves afterwards.

They got LaVar Arrington with the 2nd overall pick in 2000, straight from the deal, and he was the biggest part of the package for them. They got Champ Bailey from the Bears in a consolidation of value further down through a trade with the Chicago Bears that got them back up to 7. They could have just taken Bailey at 5, because he was a major prospect considered to be one of the best CB's to come out in a decade. To trade down and acquire the extra 1st rounder in 2000 and still get him was a coup, given the 'skins wanted no part of Ricky Williams at the 5 pick.

Casserly made a bunch of trade-ups and trade-downs during his tenure as 'skins GM but the organization never saw a long-term gain from all the moving around. It was during this period that the 'skins developed the reputation, which they still have, of being a clueless big splash in the offseason with poorer results than you'd expect based on all the talent they theoretically had acquired. As Jets fans we need to hope that Tannenbaum gets luckier breaks with his moves because the 'skins have shown us how things can go wrong in a hurry.
