i still don't understand how that works. revis is usually man on the best WR on the team, meaning he covers the guy no matter if he goes 20 yards behind the LOS or into the endzone. how do you just 'release' a guy to rhodes in the middle of a play?
yeah they must have been running a zone like mick said. the dolphins don't have a "best" receiver like the other teams we have played. nobody on the dolphins receiving corps is good enough to have revis shadow all game.
It was man with a safety over the top. Revis got toasted regardless of whether he had safety help or not. He rarely gets burned, but he did on Monday. Let's not sugar coat it.
the press conference from the other day made it seem like it was more on rhodes than revis. i don't know the intricacies of the jets defense, but something went very very wrong on that play.
It looked like they both got beat to me. Clearly Revis was toasted, then Rhodes was late getting over the top.
That was offensive pass interference, Revis was going to pick that and turn it into cheese to go with the SOJ fans whine.
