I said it Last year, And I will say it again. Brady Quinn is OVERRATED!!!!!! He is just another Heisman Hopeful who is all hype! STOMPED!!!
You can say what you want about that game but Quinn is not overrated. Don't get too carried away. Quinn is miles infront of Henne when it comes to talent and play. So just don't talk. Man I hope the Jets win tomorrow.... I'm gonna go drink 16 beers now. BRB.
Dammit... I was hoping for Michigan to fall down a little bit today. Well, Brady Quinn just gave the world another reason to be scared about his NFL career - he struggles with the pressure. He threw some of the worst throws I've ever seen at a college football level in the first half today, but he did redeem himself with a solid 2nd half. Like Penn State last week, Notre Dame was flat out not ready to play today, and like PSU last week they got smacked in the face - hard.
I'm with ya on this one, Tee... Brady Quinn showed himself today. Can you say "product of the system"?
As opposed to the dozens of other times when he handles pressure as a Pro. So blah blah blah. Get wrapped up in the momnent and shout your mouths off.
You still have to realize that your HC is an offensive mastermind, and arguably (with Rich Rodriguez) the best offensive mind in college football today (IMO, Spurrier just doesn't have it anymore). This will make the individual players on your team slightly overrated in most cases. I did not watch the ND/GT game, but I read in here that he stuggled under pressure against them too. The NFL game is much, much faster, and he can't handle the NCAA pressure then he's in a lot of trouble. That's why I'm still worried about him as a pro prospect - if he can show throughout the rest of the year that he can step up and make big throws under the pressure he'll get a huge boost on all draft boards.
I watched Quinn before Weiss showed up. He had fine potential. Of course a great coach is gonna bring out the best in his players. That doesn't mean they always can't stand strong on ther own. Quinn will not be Rick Mirer. I'll say it right now. He's gonna be the first QB in the draft withought a doubt.
Tough game for ya Dino. Not to rub it in because you didn't to me last week but...now you know how I felt! This sure wasn't the same team that showed up last week. And in other news, Ohio State is going to kick my ass all over the place next week. Not looking forward to that game. (miller lite, take me away...)
1st, I never compared him to Henne. Where did I say that? 2nd, I've been saying Quinn is overrated since last year when all the Quinn talk was brought up on the board. All this game did was prove what I and several others have said. I don't want Quinn here! He is over rated!
I have absolutely nothing to contribute to this thread, but I just have to say that I'm going to sleep like a baby tonight!
Wow, I was pretty dead on, besides that final score. Hart was excellent, and did control the TOP, Henne exploited the ND Secondary to the tune of three huge TDs, and that chip on UM's shoulder lead to the early Defensive TD and all of Quinn/Walker's obvious struggles. Also, Quinn's play yesterday should and will draw a lot of concern, it'll take some kind of miracle for him to get the Heisman now, and people are not going to be excited about the way he played yesterday. Barely made it to 50% on his passes, and that's just because the large majority were very short completions.
