I'll take Clemens over Vick everyday of the week. I'm looking forward to someone getting Vick and then watching him fail miserably, as he is likely to do.
...Getting slammed to death, drowned, electrocuted, hung, who's betting...? Why do folks pretend the practice isn't disgusting and sick? Anyone...? Again, the more cognizant the being, the worse it is. Jesus shit, it wasn't like he was baking pies and feeding people with the remains.
Really? He went to prison for over a year for what he did. It's not like he got off with a fine and continued to make millions in the NFL. He paid the penalty for what he did, what more do we want? For him to walk around with a sign that says "I kill dogs"?
Goodell should give Vick one of those ironic punishments, like making him change his name to Ron Mexico.
Seriously?? Really, Vick has only been gone a year its not like he's 38 and wants to play football again, the guy is an athlete and I'm sure all he did in prison was get in better shape. Our Defense is going to be formidable next year, we all know that, but our offense is going to be our crutch. Adding Vick instantly makes us more dangerous on O. You'd really prefer happy feet KC to Vick who can turn nothing into 20yds??? I would rather have Vick than Cutler, Vick is going to cost next to nothing and is going to have a chip on his shoulder. Lets add some violent O to that violent D. Also, I would like to hear the argument from the guy who said Vick will be terrible when he returns and will fail anywhere he goes. What is your reasoning?
He didn't feed his dogs to the hungry when they were useless. What's up with that? People are starving in the hood.
I love animals. But I hope he gets reinstated. I can't believe people here. Animals are sold at every corner of the street, unlike human beings. We tend to show more sympathy towards animals. There are several NFL players that have committed a murder, but we just don't care about them and ignore it. But when it comes to Vick, he should be banned and bla bla bla....Get over it people. We are talking about dogs. They are replaceable. Human beings are not. He served his sentence, punishment, and Im pretty sure he won't do it again. If he does, only God can save him... Peace...Everyone deserves a second chance, except those who kill human beings.
First off, Vick is a douche for what he did. Plain and simple. He blatently disregarded any basic human decency towards defenseless animals. When he completes his sentence, I'm all for him getting another gig in the NFL. If someone wants him and the baggage he will be toting, more power to them. I just don't want him on my team. Vick was highly touted coming out of college but In my opinion, he was never able to take his team to a higher level. The keyword is team. He never was able to grasp the offensive philosophy, specifically the west coast offense. All he did was run, scramble and dump passes to Crumpler. After a few years on the shelf, what guarantee is there that he will even be able to regain the form he had? No thanks to Vick. Glad he lost millions. And I am locking my dog in the house just in case......
Yes, seriously. Michael Vick's better days are behind him. He was never a very good Quarterback... Quarterback being the guy that commands the offense, sits in the pocket, reads the defense and then delivers the rock to his waiting receivers. Vicks greatest assets were his ability to scramble and turn busted plays into something. It's exciting, I admit to watch a guy do that, but you don't want your QB doing it full-time, or even half-time. Eventually, he got hurt. Now sure, I'm believe he'll be in good shape when he returns, and will likely even return to actual playing shape. But he's not going to be the guy he was the first couple of years he came out of college... he'd already proved that after his injury before. Unless he becomes a true QB, he's going to be a very small footnote in NFL history. Vick over Cutler... heheh.. pretty funny stuff. :breakdance:
Vick wont become an NFL quarterback if he wants to succeed. No one will trust him to run their offense. He is more likely to become a RB or WR.
Apparently Vick's problems with the law aren't ending just yet. I wonder if this is only civil, or could also be criminal? http://www.cbssports.com/nfl/story/11548402
ESPN TV is reporting that San Francisco and the Jets are 2 of the 4 teams interested in him. I missed the last 2 names because I was picking my jaw up off the floor when they mentioned them.
By the way this is another thread with a totally incorrect title. He is not out of prison, he is headed to court and then back to prison until May.
who said they would have to pass. if they pass on him, they are making a choice and aren't being forced into anything. you're the one making this an emotional argument by victimizing teams as being forced to pass on him (hence having to), not dog lovers getting pissy about it.
terrible argument. logic dictates that depending on extremes to make your point is the crutch of a weak argument, and minimizing what he did because he didn't kill a person is the personification of extreme. not to mention the fact that your entire rationalization fails because nobody is clamoring for Ray Caruth to be back in the league but not Michael Vick so one has nothing to do with the other.
Yeah, let's get him. He has a great arm and can make all the throws--as we know that is all that matters. How he hasn't won five Super Bowls by now is beyond me. A must get. Trade the whole draft for him.
