Come on now. The Revis decision was Woody's call. If you want blood you can more legitimately blame him for the others but not that one.
"I will respond to the plane invasion with drones and a collation ground attack of 6th round draft picks.... it's a process"
Reporter: "John, so you're telling us you have no comments on the 'Fire John Idzik' plane sign and upcoming billboard?"
it all depends what happens sunday .... im not talking about winning the steeler game we know that's not going to happen ... im talking about fan reaction.... I would expect more steeler fans than jets fans at this game .... or if the team plays badly (I expect) .... we should hear a chorus of fired idzik as well as rex instead of J-E-TS- JETS JETS JETS !!!! .... that will be headline on back pages ... im guessing woody doesn't want to hear that the last 7 weeks.... we got Miami thursday at home 2 weeks later for all the NFL to see .. you think woody want to be even more embarrassed??.....finally last home game dec 21 pats come to town again more pats fans than jets fan..... that could get ugly
That's right, one guy can make a difference. The one guy however is not Revis, it is Geno. Idzik went all in on Geno Smith and thankfully, yes that's right thankfully he did that because it speeds up the process of firing his lame ass. If Idzik brought in Revis and we were in the hunt at 3-5 with horror show Geno still lurking behind the bushes, all that would have done is killed next season too. Staying in the land of mediocrity is just good enough to convince the owner that maybe we are only a few pieces away. So in a way it was a blessing in disguise Idzik did nothing in the off season and brought in Vick to back up Geno because it has been so bad that Woody has no choice but to fire everyone. This franchise has hit rock bottom. The last time we hit rock bottom Bill Parcells was brought in. The last time we hit mediocrity, Idzik was brought in.
Junc, I love you man, but... You cannot be Pro-Sanchez, Pro-Schotty, and Pro-Idzik, all at the same time... Unless you are a Steely Dan fan. (Pretzel Logic, for the uninitiated)
This team was accused of being a circus before Idzik arrived. Mostly because of Rex. Idzik tried to stop the leaks and make things more professional. Which was strike one against him with the press. They loved Rex's bragadocio and sometimes lamented the fact that he was no longer acting like a clown. They claimed they wanted the "old Rex." And they're the ones who called the Jets a circus. If Woody fires Idzik after less than two years, coming off of a decent season and not allowing him to choose some of the front office and coaching staff then to me the circus is back in town.
Here's five. Slauson,Howard,Sanchez,Cro,Patterson, and Cj2k as a bonus... thats before we get to overpaying for Decker, wrecking OL continuity.. Geno Smith, Choosing Vick over Sanchez...at the same price. that's 10. Thanks for playing.
slauson was last year when we had cap issues. hard to fault him. Giacomini has been a fine replacement for Howard I fault him for Mark and for Cro nothing wrong w/ Patterosn move, quality player when he plays. nothing wrong w/ Johnson move. so far you have 2 and as much as I wanted Cro back he was brutal last year. Decker is worth every penny Geno falls in line w/ the sanchez stuff.
I am not "pro-Idzik" but I am not anti-Idzik either. he's been here for 5 minutes, it's unfair to not give him more time and I don't think Woody will be dumb enough to fire him.
Then X-mas comes early. I will celebrate Nov.10, 2014 as a holiday just as I do Jan.10 , 2012 every year.
I'm not a vindictive person. And as a working stiff not big into demanding other people get fired. But the first thing that comes into my mind when I think of Rex is: "Mark gives us our best chance to win." So fire his ass!
Dee Milliner NEVER missed a game at Alabama. He missed 3 games with a hamstring injury in 2013 after reporting to camp late and out of shape. The perception is that he's injury prone but up until this year the only time he wasn't available to his teams was when he held out and had resulting hamstring issues early last season. McDougle has never had a knee injury. That's just bad luck. He played 35 consecutive games for Maryland before tearing his shoulder early his senior season. The knee is completely unrelated. It has nothing to do with anything. It was a non-contact injury, just like Darrelle Revis knee in 2012. Some times you catch bad breaks and both of the players and the Jets caught really bad breaks. Or you can just believe the BS that the media is throwing up there now because they finally have something to sell.
I dont want Rex gone. But if he goes he better take Idzik with him. Its dumb to let Marty finish the year as coach though. Nothing to gain from that.
1-8 is really bad. Rex needs to find a way to get this team functioning again and defense isn't the first place that needs to get looked at. If he can't do that and the fix is not in regarding Suck for the Duck it's hard to see how he's going to be effective moving forward. Locker rooms quit on coaches that can't rally the troops. It's the norm in the NFL.
so those candidates were cherry picking, idzic was confident enough to take the job under less than ideal conditions. like i said, all a matter of interpretation
I posted this in another thread & maybe U will get some wisdom out of it I guess U were not around in the 80s when the fans hired a plane to tow a banner which read "if Joe Walton brain was in a bird that bird would fly backwards". That being said why do U find it ridiculous? I surely do not because IMHO the only way you are going to ever win a SB is to make Woody look like fool#1. So what those fans did IMHO again is bring us closer to a SB then we were before the plane was hired. Remember another 45 years can go by just like the last 45 have without winning another SB. Also I urge all fans going to the Steeler game to wear brown bags or make a Tshirt & wear it saying words to the effect Woody pls sell the team
