Not with that Leftwich release. Strafford, Sanchez, Clausen, Bradford >>>> Tebow Shit...even a bunch of unknowns like Nate Davis are more NFL ready than Tebow.
Only one of those guys is definetly coming out which is Stafford if Tebow comes out this year he can go in the 1st cause there is else who is worthy of being picked that high
Thats not how drafting works...I mean someone *might* bite because he *is* significantly talented...but the real difference between first rounders and other draft picks is usually polish (except in extreme high upside cases like Williams and Gholston recently)...and Tebow is nowehere near a polished passer...nor is his running ability the kind that would translate well to the NFL. And with so much talent at other positions...I just don't think a team will risk a first on him. I realize I can and even probably will be wrong, but personally I wouldn't touch him with a ten foot pole with my first round pick. Here's hoping he proves me wrong...he's got alot of physical talent and heart...that alone could make him a first round pick.
Come on ware its me i know how drafting works, i wouldnt necessarily love the idea of drafting Tebow cause he hasnt shown me enough but i think his passing has improved from last year. For me me personally watching that Miami game he made some really good throws that night and a team like Minnesota might bite because its a position of need in the draft and they may not risk tryna pick him in the 2nd.
Of course...hype alone will get him drafted higher than he should be...we've seen it with Leinart and Young in recent years. But ignore the noise and he's a junior QB with poor mechanics, a slow delivery, and he's playing in an offense not known to produce many NFL QBs. But as the QB of a team thats contended for the national title his whole tenure there he's got a good chance to have many flaws overlooked because of raw upside.
Don't forget about Jeremy Maclin, the WR out of Missou. He reminds me of Chad Johnson a lot, with out the loonie-ness.
Nice comp for Maclin. Another guy not being talked about enough is Darrius Heyward-Bey. He reminds me of Roy Williams. He's another guy who should only get more physical as he puts on weight. He's got some nice upside, and is quite good already.
This guy will be a better college player, than pro player after a quick look-see. I have to take a closer look at him.
How do you come to this conclusion? He has all the tools to be a great NFL Wideout. Size, Speed, Hands, Focus.
It's going to be something about the system he plays in...the only real knock on him...and mostly not a legit one.
it will be about Leach's spread offense and how it may take a player from that system a while to learn pro concepts. But the kids athleticism is insane. But route running has to be great, because pro DBs will get the best of a kid if he's not a good route runner. See Ted Ginn. I'm not comparing the two, just for the record.
I can understand that "System guy"-knock on a QB, but not on a WR with obviously great talent and skillset.
Yea, thats the main reason I'd knock him. All he has to do to knock that one out is show he's intelligent in interviews. Pro concepts shouldn't be hard to grasp for a football player, and if he can understand them then he can learn to dominate it physically too. Just have to wash that college offense shit out of his head. He's not a great route runner right now, but he's very good considering his relative n00bishness at WR.
I didn't understand it much the first time I heard it for Crabtree either...it was quite obvious he's a talent that defies system here. I just learned to realize that some will consider that knock more than others, and I should least pretend I think it's legit. Draft guys are a sensitive bunch...and nowadays it's cooler to list the negatives on a prospect than the positives.
I'm with German guy here, out of nowhere Texas Tech is a top ranked school, the other run n shoot teams went nowhere in the rankings. There has to be some talent there and Crabtree is the most obvious suspect in this looting of the BCS system.
