Great video discussing how the Jets can land Watson and still have assets to build a strong team around him: Trade for him now!
I’m not understanding the Darnold for a first round pick scenario, even if it’s 28 from the Saints. Darnold’s value is so nebulous....it makes no sense to me that over half this board is so convinced he flat out sucks and yet people talk about getting a first or a second for him. Can’t have it both ways...if he sucks as bad as this board says he does, then he’s barely worth a 4 or a 5. Clearly, if the league out there thinks he’s worth a 2 or even a low 1, then he must not suck as bad as this board makes him out to suck. I have no idea what he’s worth, but I’ve a hard time believing he’d bring a first round pick in return just seems like we’re all over the place on these scenarios .... we don’t REALLY know what Houston will get....I’m sure they’ll ask for three firsts but doesn’t mean another team would do it. We don’t REALLY know what Darnold may be worth in trade. I’m just not sold on the claim that we’d still have enough draft ammo even after giving up three first rounders ... it’s just not true...it would leave us with two first rounders in the next three years. That wouldn’t be ideal if we were already a well stocked team...let alone a team with such a poor roster as ours where we need help at just about every position outside of DT and P. We need those extra picks just to catch up. I’ve little interest in becoming what Houston is...a team with a bad roster but a great QB...that great QB got them to 4 wins. Four. Does anyone really think our roster is so much better than theirs? I’m in no hurry to give up #2 overall plus two other first rounders...I’d be a lot more comfortable if it’s #2 overall (which I’m guessing it will have to be), then maybe one other first rounder, or if it’s 3 first rounders, then it can’t include #2 overall.... but who knows what Houston will accept. They are in a huge hole....we all talk like we know, but in truth we don’t. Houston may demand 3 first rounders including our #2 (likely), but they may not get that. No one knows what value Darnold could bring back to recoup picks. No one knows if JD loves Wilson or Fields enough to stay out and roll with a rookie QB, with or without Darnold as a contingency plan.
If we're mortgaging our future, why settle for Watson? Package Sam with five #1s and bring in Patrick Mahomes. Mahomes doesn't have a no-trade clause so the Chiefs and ship him out anytime they want. It's JD's job to make them want!
Watson wants to play here and has leverage with a no trade clause? Why are you bringing in Mahomes? Lol
Why not? Because Mahomes doesn't want to leave Kansas City...come to planet earth with this argument. There is an elite young QB without problems in his game and is loved by players that wants to play for us. Remind me how many of our top picks usually end up playing long time for us
If Mahomes doesn't have a no trade clause, then what Mahomes wants is irrelevant. Maybe Andy Reid falls in love with all our #1s.
Lol. That’s like winning this past weeks billion dollar mega millions and trading it in for 1,000,000 worth of mega millions tickets in hopes you can win 2 future billion dollar mega millions
Naw I get it....it's absurd. But if were packaging all our 1st round picks to upgrade our QB position, maybe Watson isn't the only QB we should be looking at.
Great video, thanks for sharing. He does an excellent job laying it out and that's with us possibly trading all 4 1s (won't happen) and signing the highest priced players (could easily happen).
Mahomes doesn't want out of KC, so the difference between what we'd have to send KC to trade for Mahomes and what we'd have to send Houston to trade for Watson would be significantly more than the difference between Mahomes and Watson's abilities.
