I thought Schoeneweis was the 2nd best reliever this year.

Joe Smith still pitches? Who knew? Shows you how much I watch the Mets these days. I do look at boxscores, but haven't looked at all of them. By sheer luck, the ones I must have missed must have been all the games in which Smith appeared.

Win or lose I have no problem with Figueroa showing some pride... I'd prefer to see it on the field but I have no problem with his post game interview. If you listen to the entire thing he stood up and took the blame for his performance first and foremost, something many of the vets on this team never do. He showed some piss and vinegar when he was being showed up by a bunch of last place losers in his house, another quality many on this team lack. It's pride... this team could use a heavy dose of it... if anything I'm disappointed he didn't react more with a fastball into somebody's back. Could you imagine Davie Johnson's Mets sitting back while somebody pulled that BS in Shea?

did he throw a fastball for a strike that entire inning? not only is his velocity in the mid 80s but he can't locate it at all. strange his breaking pitches were so sharp.

Reyes with the single and Milledge with the drop on the throw. Mets up 5-3.

I dunno, he's always been good at scooping those low throws from Wright/Reyes. It's just plays that require him to move when he gets in trouble.

Nice to see the .500's back on track!
