What a horrible, horrible sequence of pitches from Igarashi. The second Beato is eligible to be off the DL, Igarashi better spend the rest of the season in Buffalo. He's throwing sliders and splits to the opposing pitcher? 1-for-23 his whole career?? Wow...Jon Niese with a fucking triple. What else can happen in this game??
Terrible fucking loss. No clutch hitting. The winning run in scoring position in the 9th, 10th and 11th innings. Can't get a bunt down in the 9th? Burke Badenhop win the winning hit? You have to be fucking kidding me. Igarashi better be off this team ASAP.
http://www.metsblog.com/2011/05/17/news-hu-igarashi-down-tejada-up-beato-activated/ Hu, Igarashi to Buffalo. Ruben Tejada and Beato up. Also noted that Nick Evans might come up and Wright to the DL. Considering they knew he had a stress fracture in his lower back, they should have made this move before tonight's game. A guy like Evans could have hit for Harris in the 9th instead of the no-hit Hu, or (even though Niese got a triple), Evans could have PH in the 11th. Considering Wilpon's money woes, he probably hesitated on making this move because he didn't want to pay Evans big league money unless he HAD to. At least I don't have to watch Igarashi throw sliders to a 1-for-24 hitter anymore. Holy shit, that was painful to watch.
Igrashimi whatever he is called is as bad as a relief pitcher gets , what exactly is his main pitch.... At least we called Tejada and Beato up
Did anyone hear that heckler in the crowd? I had it on for a bit, the place was so empty you could hear one lone guy yelling shit the whole time I had it on.
I was originally going to go last night, but my friend canceled because of the rain, and I'm sure a lot of other people also didn't want to sit through an 80+ minute rain delay. Those are your best chances to be heard. Decimated non-contender hosting team with small fanbase after a long rain delay.
Oh, this guy could be heard. It got the the point where I was curious if SNY was going to turn off whatever mic was picking him up. That's something I've seen/heard at late season games in baseball and the NBA, I don't ever recall it on a Met game but I don't watch them a lot.
It happens occasionally on baseball broadcasts. What you get sometimes in the NBA is a very shrill woman who is sitting near the broadcasters, I guess. Then again, it even happened during an NFL playoff game.
hahahaha I've noticed in HD the TV alone gets me more crowd noise and not the announcers. If I mute the TV and put the surround on I get the broadcasters clearly and the crowd in the background. With Vin Scully it's the only way you can hear him. On the Met game last night it didn't matter.
