We believe in shitty hitting. We believe in shitty pitching. We believe in shitty hitting during games with shitty pitching. We believe in stranding armies of runners on base every single game. We believe in giving up after falling four runs behind. We believe in making crappy pitchers look awesome. We believe in signing big contracts for star players, but we also believe in signing retreads, career minor leaguers and has-beens to play around them. We believe in playing said retreads, career minor leaguers and has-beens over younger, better players no matter how terrible those retreads, career minor leaguers and has-beens perform. We believe in having a moron as our manager. We believe in having an overrated buffoon as our general manager. We believe in having fucktarded clowns as owners. We believe in fucking up press conferences and conference calls. We believe in doing everything halfassed to the point where we alienate even the most optimistic fans. We believe in signing one good ball player and calling it an offseason, no matter how many gaping holes there are on the pitching staff and on the field. We believe in ridiculous marketing gimmicks in a shameful attempt to gloss over our faults. We believe in being stupid. that is all.
unfortunately, nothing about the Mets management has shown that would be enough to get the right people fired. but the same shitty play after 1 game or 50 games that is the same as the same shitty play over the course of those games plus last years 162 games sure doesn't reveal any reason why anyone should expect something different. I didn't need all 162 games last year to know the season was over before the final game of the season, so why would it be needed this season? that pattern of the team's ability is evident.
This is painful to watch for you guys... You can't win the championship in April, but you can lose it... and the Mets are following that mantra pretty nicely right now. But they definitely still have plenty of time to turn it around so I wouldn't give up yet guys.
the first thing that needs to be done is to fire omar, jerry, the medical staff........EVERYBODY. then someone needs to kill the wilpons or force them into selling the team to someone who gives a rats ass.
What's the earliest into a season that a GM has ever been fired? I don't see how Omar can get the axe any time soon because it will make their decision not to fire him after last year(and the year before that) look even more idiotic. I imagine Manuel will be gone pretty soon though.
While I agree Omar has to go or your team is going to suck for a looooong time, Jerry Manuel gets a bad wrap it seems. He is not a terrible manager. He has had to deal with constant injuries, and the dusche of a GM just making life absolutely miserable. But most likely when Omar goes, the new GM will want to bring in his own guy so you will all get your wish.
Minaya bears far more responsibility for this clusterfuck than he does, but he still sucks. He bunts in inopportune situations like it's a bodily function, he bats poor hitters in higher spots in the line-up...It's a joke. Then again, you have a point; the manager of the Mets can rearrange the deck chairs on the Titanic all he wants, but it's still gonna sink.
All I'm going to add to this...how can anybody expect any positiveness from a Mets fan after two collapses and last year's debacle of a season?? With this start...I gotta admit, I've only watched Opening Day (a few innings here and there, too), because frankly, I'm sick of this shit...this team needs to win back their fans. Plain and simple. This team doesn't hit in the clutch....uhhhh, EVER. This team hasn't had a set of balls on it since the early 2000s. It's pretty fucking sad, actually. I watched two days of golf over opening weekend. You hear me, Wilpon??? Golf over fucking baseball. Tonight, it was re-runs of the Office over your team. Sell the fucking team if you're such a "fan." He's our Dolan.
And stop giving Manuel a pass. HE fucking sucks, too. This team needs a kick in the ass. For a couple of years now. Who's been the "manager" now for those couple of years?? The owner's too busy coddling his "stars" while the manager's too busy writing his witty quips for post-loss presser. Fucking bullshit. The only guys who seem to give more than one shit are Franceour and Johan. I gotta stop, I could go on for hours on this subject.
this organization is too stupid to fire omar this early.......... as for jerry and dan warthen...... i don't know what their waiting for.
Woah! The Met's are kinda hitting today. I do actually really like how this team hits more HR's this year, kinda a little bright spot?
