I would rather see Byrdak / Parnell / Edgin ( watch this guy rise from minors) work the 8th and then have Rauch close , Francisco is a home run pitcher his ability to close out games is like watching a one legged man walking a tightrope
Santana pitching a gem so far ...some moron on here questioned his 89mph.....that guy must be eating his words.......anyway moving swiflty on Tejada is making the Reyes story dead in the water with his hitting and defense, lets hope he keeps it up
Finally getting run support, thanks to facing Moyer, who had actually done surprisingly well before today).
Quite a catch by Nieuwenhuis there. Tejada the first Met to get 10 hits in a 3-game series since Edgardo Alfonso 12 years ago (also in Coors Field).
This Nieuwenhuis kid so far is a stud in the outfield. He's made some pretty damn good catches, that i'm pretty confident Pagan would not have been able to get. Like what I'm seeing.
Other than his stinker against Atlanta, Santana has a 0.79 ERA in his other starts and has exactly nothing to show for it.
If he continues as he is I can see some serious trade discussions...with his Salary if we could move him for a significant prospect + etc it would be great business Captain Kirk to the rescue in the 10th now for the piece of shit that is Francisco
Cakes..its a close call..8.34 era..constantly giving up hrs..time for a reshuffle if he can't get his shit right
Rauch, Byrdak, Francisco, and Hairston are terrible, but the rest of the team plays well enough that the Mets take the rubber game against Colorado.
I think our young players are making the difference i would like to see Edgin brought up for bullpen..
Obviously I'd rather see a W but having Santana in your money league can be quite frustrating with the shit performances he gets from his teammates. It took until April 29th for the team to score any runs for him only to have the bullpen screw it up.
