Ive heard a lot of people in the know think this is Sandy's handy work. Wouldn't shock me. I dont hate Grandy at leadoff but Lagares was there all spring training long and looked good. He doesnt hold the same amount of value batting 6th.

Wright in the 2 spot is just beyond dumb.

Lagares, Murph, Wright, Duda, Cuddyer, Grandy, D'Arnaud, Flores..I think that lineup gives us the best shot at success.

Eh I don't mind the lineup, reduce the pressure on Lagares with the Nats rotation that we faced

Heard Gary Cohen bring up the possibility of him batting leadoff this weekend against 2 Atlanta lefties.

Dont think that would be the worst idea.

Harvey was dealing today! Upset that it was a day game as I couldn't get Infront if a tv to watch it but I listened over the radio. I don't like lagares at 6 whatsoever. He should be batting lead off for sure. And Murphy In the 2 slot. Actually, after rereading Irish's post, I think we should be rolling w that line up as well. Still can't believe we led the spring training in dingers and only have 1 XBH all season so far

The Mets were up against arguably the best pitching staff in the majors so its no surprise we're not killing the ball. We'll see as time goes on and the quality of the pitching returns from the stratosphere.

I think d'Arnaud needs to move up in the order.

Would be interesting to see if he does if/when Murph gets traded or leaves via free agency.

To me he has the look of a guy who can hit #2.

The Braves always seem to be good every year.

I can respect the Braves though. You can't say that about the Pats.

Team D did them in, Infield D particularly, obviously. Infield D is below average, maybe average.

It'll be another year before Sandy gets this settled, maybe two as the young guys in the minors fill out the roster.

If not for the Coupons do you think Sandy woulda spent to get faster, younger, and better defensively?
Sandy and staff have done a good job stock piling arms, and taking guff for the slooooow rate of improvement from the media and fans like me. I like Sandy, always have.

I grew up hating them passionately. Was way more into baseball in my youth.

Jenrry Mejia suspended 80 games for PEDs. Had "no idea" how they got in his body lol.

Geezuz fuck we can't get out if our own way.

Adam Rubin made a tweet that said an ex-MLBer told him that the drug found in Mejia's body cannot be hidden from tests....so the no idea excuse almost seems plausibly. You've got to be an idiot to put something that's so easily found in tests in your body....maybe he's just an idiot---it's possible.

In other news, playing a terrible Braves teams, the Mets had a chance to get off to a really great start, instead they'll probably get swept today.

I just read the worst part of the penalty. I figured 80 games, we get him back through the rest of the year and the playoffs. No biggie.

Nope. No playoffs if you are suspended for PEDs.

    Idiot.

Well the good news is as Mets fans we don't have to worry about our players being suspended for playoffs

Yeah, and Mejia's elbow was worrisome. It didn't sound good. Hopefully we find out what the issue was.

Man, gotta stock pile the arms nowadays more than ever with the TJ surgery's.

This could be a huge problem for us for the rest of the season. WE HAVE to be able to turn two. We most likely win that game if we turn 2 and get out of the inning.

Looking forward to today's game. Hopefully I can get a little early and catch the 5th inning on. DeGrom looked really good last outing, excluding that first inning homerun he allowed, but let we shall see!!
