Yeah he’s lost. Can’t find the strike zone. Walked three batters in a row.

They need to have someone up in the bullpen right now, and worry about what will happen after that later.

That was bad fielding and bad baserunning.

    Senga's clearly got nothing.

Dumb decision to start a guy that hasn’t pitched all season. Especially, in game 1.

Didn’t get the usage of starting Senga tbh. Especially game one. Pen already down an arm now gonna be taxing.

Why would the Mets waste David Peterson in a game they’re down 3-0 on the road? Weird decision to burn your best arm.

Yeah didnt make sense. Down 3-0 the odds of winning are like what 10%?

Sure its early but its a 7 game series. Let the other pitchers throw some pitches and wish for the best. Now Peterson has been worked and it didn't work anyway.

Very poor game in all aspects. Pitching, offense, base running , defense. Seeming a little lazy out there.

Really ugly showing in a NLCS game. Real ugly! They’re still set up for what is needed which is going back home 1-1 though. Tomorrow is a must win. So I guess we will see what tomorrow brings. Can’t rely on a big inning. Have to be more consistent. Can’t be dead the first 6 innings every game if you have any hope at advancing.

Feel like our backs are against the walls already. Using Peterson today might haunt us. Hopefully we dont lose tomorrow night because we have to go to Diaz.

Only thing I can think of he's going to be their guy Game 5 and are going to scrap the Senga thing.

There was no reason to start Senga when Severino and Manaea were on full rest. Absolutely boneheaded decision by the Mets. You pitch your best guy Game 1. Not someone who has thrown 9 innings over the last 6 months.

I actually think I understand Mendoza's logic here and it does make sense. Mendoza's goal here was to put the Mets in their best position to win one in Los Angeles. If Mannea had pitched yesterday the Mets still lose. Mets have a much better chance of winning game 2 with him then they had game 1. Obviously they would have liked to win with Senga but it would have been worse if Mannea pitched yesterday and we still lose. I also think he used Peterson because he likely intends on starting him based on how Senga pitched. So Peterson wouldn't be available for these games anyway if he is going to start.

We will see if it pays off, if we win today then I would say it did. Of course we want to win both 1-1 is pretty damn optimal so let's hope that is the result after today.

I just don’t think using the postseason is the time to get rehab starts for a pitcher. Haven’t read an explanation for that yet that has made any sense to me personally. It’s whatever now though. On to game 2. Dodgers strength is obviously their bullpen. These game get late early. They have to do better than waiting for the late inning miracles. I think Alvarez has been my biggest disappointment this season. I expected so much better from him!

Game 5 is one of the most important games in any series. Manaea may not even get a chance to pitch a second time in this series by not going Game 1. Earliest he will go is G6 if I’m not mistaken?

Im not saying I fully agree.

But if we walk out of here with a Mannea win in game 2 then it paid off. Like I said if Mannea pitched yesterday we still lose because we didnt score. I think Mendoza thought that was a possibility and he was right. It would have been a waste of a start for Mannea in retrsopect.

Thats correct. Im not saying its the right or wrong call but if we leave here 1-1 then the gamble paid off in a way. Definately risk involved either way.
