Wow wild game. I would imagine the Mets just try to get through this second game as fast as possible.
It doesn't really matter, of course, and as a result the regulars probably won't play, and losing would mean a two-hour flight instead of a four-and-a-half-hour flight, but it would still feel great to knock the Braves out of the playoffs in the second game. Nimmo is right - this is the definition of an instant classic.
Mets are now hoping to bring back the season-after-Buck-Showalter-leaves effect from early in his career (1996 Yankees and 2001 Diamondbacks).
That was awesome listening to the Fan and Evan Roberts living and dying those last few innings of game 1. Congrats Mets fans!
Oh well. Mets to Milwaukee, Braves to San Diego. I just have to remind myself that there weren't postseason expectations before the season, and the thought was utterly laughable on June 1st, so everything from now on is gravy. That's a good thing, because I do have to wonder if the series in Milwaukee will be more like the 16 innings today in which they got no runs on 6 hits, rather than the 2 innings in which they got 8 runs on 8 hits.
Mets and Royals win. Huge step toward the rematch. All I want is for the Mets to celebrate a World Series on Kansas Citys field like they did on Citi Field. Revenge time incoming.
I was moving all day, with no expectations lol. I'm very used to losing in the playoffs. Sent from my genius mind.
