RA won his 19th win today, he has a legit shot at the triple crown it would be a damn shoe-in if we had an offense worth a damn

Wow, the Met fans on this thread have officially given up.

This franchise has truly hit rock bottom.

David Wright becomes the all-time Mets hit leader. It's somehow fitting that it's with an infield hit that travels about 70 feet.

I didn't give up. It was a joke thing, but I really am a fan of the 2012 World Series champions.

I don't understand the thought process of some of these people. Barry The Baptizer will soon become an Angels fan. This means 1986 for him will soon be looked at as a season of heartbreak. 2002 will now retroactively be his greatest season as a baseball fan.

When the Mets become good again B The B will watch from afar and kick himself for rooting for the Mets when they sucked from 2009-2012 and rooting against them when they are good.

Also, he will become a great pen pal of Ohio Pork.

Hmm... didn't think of the 86 thing. History is what it is, none of that changes anything for me. It just means I am sick of the Wilpons and am rooting for a "local team". My fandom of the Angels begins in March of 2013 while my Mets fandom dies that die. Anything previous to that is what it is.

I have half-seriously thought of breaking free from my Jets and Mets chains, but I have no idea how to do it from the historical aspect.

Like, are you going to not care if Mike Piazza's # gets retired by the Mets? (If it already was, then I missed that.) You were a Mets fan when he played on the team, but you won't be in the future.... so?

I think what he means is that he has no interest in actively following the team at this point, at least as long as the Wilpons still run the show. I think of it as a form of silent protest.

6-3 lead for Dickey after 7

let's see if the bullpen can hold it

    Mets win!

RA Dickey becomes the 6th Met to win 20.

It took a nice running catch with 2 outs in the 9th.

Another bad performance by the bullpen.

Yes! Dickey wins his 20th! One more try to become the first Met pitcher to win more than 20 since Doc Gooden won 24 in 1985.

They might not bother pitching him the last day of the season since he went 130+ pitches today and got to 20.

I just hope this wasn't the last game for Wright and RA at Citi.

I will be amazed if they don't give him one more shot to strengthen his chances for Cy Young (I don't think he's going to win, although he deserves it, but I think they'll give him every shot).

the betting odds before today had Dickey as the favorite.

And he's still tops in the Cy Predictor, even overcoming the lack of a "victory bonus".

I do care and would care because they are honoring one of the all time great Mets. A guy who played on the team when I cared about them. However if lets say Harvey goes on to have an amazing career and has his number retired I wouldn't care because outside of a few starts this year he would be meaningless to me.

Yes and no, I am done with them as long as they own the team. It's not really a silent protest, it's more like a fuck you. Not that they care what I think but I still hope the team does well but I just will not actively root for them, purchase merchandise or go to see them play.

FUCK Fred Wilpon and his family and all the disappointment that comes with being a METS fan...... but this is a good day for a great man.
