Reasonable signing, but he's not even a six-inning pitcher (averaging 5 IP per start), so the need for good middle inning relief only increases with him.
Padres owner is an absolute maniac. Offered Judge 10/400, got turned down. Offered Turner more money, got turned down. Just signed Boegarts for 11/280. Have a buddy who is a die hard Sox fan and said it was almost done with Boston for 7/185ish and then boom -- 11/280.
Who do you guys want Cohen to go get now? Correa, The Japanese pitcher, Rondon, Brandon Finding Nimmo?
It isn't my money and I don't care how much over the tax they go or don't go, but Senga would be a nice add. He would also be the only starter on the roster after '24. I think Nimmo's price is really high, but we might need him more than he needs us so the overpay could happen. If they went after Correa (can't even imagine what he is going to get now after seeing Xander's deal to SD), he has already said the only person he will move to 3B for is Lindor. You can potentially move Baty to help fill other needs.
According to sources, Mets are bringing back Nimmo on an 8-year $162 million deal. They have also signed David Robertson to a one-year $8 million deal. If Robertson has a repeat of 2022 in 2023, it's a great deal for the Mets. https://www.mlb.com/news/mets-brandon-nimmo-contract
Nimmo contract would make more sense if he stole bases and hit for a bit more power. Had to sign him though. Payroll increase but feels like the same situation as last year? Won 101 games and we spent a chuck of time complaining about the offense. I see everyone talking big about us spending this money but idk..I’m feeling pessimistic. You can only buy what’s available I get it, and idk what power bat they can add. Maybe counting on Alvarez. pitching is a concern to me. It’s the oldest pitching rotation in the league and that isn’t something to be cavalier about. Let’s see what else they do but right now…idk…
I'm glad Nimmo is back, he's one of my favorite players to watch. Add Senga and call it a day? I can live with that! Hopefully, one or 2 of our prospects can fill the other holes.
Toronto signing Bassitt for 3 years, $63 million. https://sports.yahoo.com/report-blu...is-bassitt-to-3-year-63-m-deal-213231207.html
Welp. 13/350 for Correa to SF. He turned down 10/285 from the Twins. Swanson is the last elite SS left. Seeing he is tied to Cubs, Red Sox, Braves.
Correa failed his physical with the giants. He became a free agent. Signed with Mets 12/315 holy fuck
Whoa…. Have to wait and see if the Mets are comfortable with his medical. I mean I really really hope they do their due diligence.
Heyman is reporting that there was a disagreement over some imaging. I can’t imagine Cohen would just ignore if it was something serious.
Hold your Horses , just heard on msnbc Major League Baseball might look into this because CC made verbal agreement to Giants
