Sitting for 40+ minutes and up 5 they should take him out imo.

Showalter is such an idiot. Not having anyone warm up at this point is just moronic.

 

We’ve seen it all year with the staff and pen. Guy is clueless over it. You pitch Diaz here you don’t have him for tomorrow.
3-2 game, fine. Bring him back out but you’re up 5. You have a chance to save him now. Don’t get it.

I agree, of course, except that there's no way Diaz won't be brought in tomorrow if he's needed (assuming he only pitches this inning and it's an easy one).

 

There should be another game tomorrow. Makes no sense bringing Diaz back out.

Good question. I hope that we get to find out, or even better, don't because the Mets have an early big lead and keep it.

 

Pujols just singled in the bottom of the 8th and was pulled for a pinch runner with the Cardinals down 2-0. If they don't rally in that game, that's the end of his major league career.
