Let’s be honest our bench situation sucks and you have to blame Eppler for that. Oh I forgot about the pen too. Honestly the deadline was so bad that I have no confidence in him going forward.
Supposedly deGrom was pulled after 6 innings yesterday because of a blister on his middle finger that started in his previous awful start in Oakland. https://www.espn.com/mlb/story/_/id...acob-degrom-leaves-game-blister-middle-finger All I know is that if deGrom pitches in the postseason the way he's pitched in his last few starts, whether they win the division or not is irrelevant, because the team is going nowhere. There are five people who have to be at the tops of their games for the Mets to have a chance (deGrom, Scherzer, Diaz, Alonso, and Lindor).
I am so happy they moved Canha down out of the 4 spot. Dude has been brutal since the grandslam he hit. I looked it up on my phone earlier so I may be wrong, but I believe Wright in his last two starts vs the Mets is 0-2 with 16 IP, 9 runs, and 5 HRs. No reason not to put up good numbers tonight vs him. Lets go get one.
Are the Mets ever going to get a big hit? And now Scherzer giving up some hard-hit balls to start the bottom of the 4th.
God, this team sucks when it counts. Unless there's a miracle comeback, looks like they'll be in the Wild Card round, and it wouldn't surprise me if they don't get out of it.
