Thank God for Pete. First Met to hit 40+ home runs twice. 4-3.

    The lead is gone.

11-9 in September against Washington, Pittsburgh, Miami, the Cubs, and Oakland. If they don't win the division, that's the reason.

No idea what they’re going to do about the series in atlanta this weekend either. They need to make the decision today.

If they try and play this series and we send out our pitchers to throw 50 pitches then delay and cancel i am going to lose my mind.

7-3 in the last 10 and the Mets lost a 2.5 game lead in the division (really 1.5 since Atlanta had 2 games in hand).

Not sure what else they're to do.

Walker gives up a two-run home run. Sigh.

This guy cannot pitch more than a half-season.

Walker manages to stagger through 5 innings without allowing any more runs.

If Showalter lets him come out for the 6th it's almost a fireable offense.

Showalter is a fucking moron. He leaves Walker in, and the first batter walks, and the second batter doubles. Fucking ridiculous.

Escobar is the man tonight! 4-4, with him driving in all four runs.

Nats walk off the Braves, so at least the Mets will still be in first going into the weekend.

Don't have any faith in Smith with the free runner.

Wow, great job by Smith. Mets need to do it here.

    Escobar 5 Marlins 4!!!!

Mets one game up, magic number is 6. (Edit 1: Actually, the magic number is 5, because the Mets have the tie-breaker.) (Edit 2: It’s actually more complicated than that, since if the Braves sweep the Mets they will then have the tiebreaker.)

He’s been atrocious with the staff + pen for a long time now.

They had the Braves on regional coverage on MLBN so i kept flipping back and forth. Those announcers are such garbage. I thought the Nats were done when Atlanta tied it up but they pulled it out.

What a night man. Onto Atlanta !

Only some showers in the forecast now for Atlanta this weekend, so presumably the series will go on as scheduled.
