Vientos needs to be given the DH spot everyday. His splits in AAA were good to great against both RHP and LHP.

    This platoon bullshit isn't working.

So many games you watch and are left wondering if these umpires even know the rules to the game.

Why bring Vientos up if you aren’t gonna play him? I doubt he’s gonna be successful if he isn’t getting consistent at bats. Still hoping this offense can figure it out before it’s too late because if this is how it’s gonna be we aren’t gonna be in the post season for too long.

Mets have looked like a last place team that's ready for the season to be over. So weird! Over the first 11 games of their easiest 16-game stretch of the season, the Mets are 5-6. That's ridiculous! You're in a pennant race guys!

Braves loss to start the day. Get a damn win tonight. I'll be fuming if we get swept at home by the Cubbies.

Peterson puts the Mets four runs down before he even gets two outs, and he's not getting a chance to get the second out. Wow, does this team look awful.

The Braves lose again(JD Davis helped out) and despite the weakened schedule the Mets haven’t been able to create some daylight between them.

Took all season but, finally, here are the Mets we know and love.

Showalter better watch out - he might go from Manager of the Year candidate to unemployed after the season if this keeps up.

I don’t know what vientos is or will be. He hasn’t gotten a hit but they haven’t given him a fair shake by not giving him some consistency.

Lindor, Alonso, and Vogelbach are 5-for-6 with 2 runs scored and 5 RBI between them. That's the formula for this team to get out of their September funk.

Vientos gets his first major league hit, and it results in his first major league RBI.

Dominant win over a terrible team. Need to get three more the next three games.

More difficult than it should have been, but that's 2 in the series. Mets are 80-0 when ahead after 8 innings.

Mets win. Braves down 2-1 in the bottom of the 8th and score 6 to win 7-2.

One of the few positives of the lost Mets era of the late 1970s/early 1980s, John Stearns, passed away from prostate cancer on Thursday at age 71. He was a tough guy, as his nickname ("Bad Dude") and college career as a safety at the University of Colorado illustrates. He set the then-NL-record for stolen bases by a catcher in 1978 (25), which wasn't broken for 20 years, and in his time (especially 1977, 1978, and 1982) was one of the better catchers in baseball. He is third all-time in hits by a Mets catcher (behind Jerry Grote and Mike Piazza), and by far the career stolen base leader by a catcher. He made it to Old-Timers Day despite his illness, another sign of his toughness to the end.

    RIP.

Disappointing performance by the Phillies in their series against the Braves.

Disappointing performance also for deGrom for the second straight start - lots of strikeouts are great, but not giving up runs is more important.

Vogelbach seems to have gotten the magic back in this series, which would be very big if it continues.
