Buck bringing in Joely (A LHP) to face an all righty lineup is unbelievably stupid, especially if you're going to just give Diaz work in a 6-3 game
Terrible managing! Terrible job by Eppler during the deadline! Terrible feeling about this team right now!
Im going to slightly defend Eppler right now regarding not getting a lefty reliever. Only two lefty relievers got traded at the deadline, only TWO in the entire MLB, and they were both involved in the same Hader trade. With that being said, Ruf sucks and they should’ve just called up Vientos. He’s gotten on base 12x in 48 PAs. The problem w the Mets right now is that their two star players went ice cold at the same time and they can’t sustain offense when that happens.
9-1 after a Canha salami!!! Feels good to finally have a laugher .. Maybe, just maybe? Someone can help us out with Atlanta
Bases loaded no one out and can't get 1. Mets traded 4 players for Ruf and it's been Ruf!I don't even get using him in that spot.
It doesn’t look like any of the moves that were made at the deadline were good ones. Outside of like a handful of games vogelbach, ruf, naquin have all sucked. I know you guys don’t think so but Eppler may have had one of the worst trade deadline ever. Gonna cross your fingers that maybe they can have another handful of good games.
Who doesn't think so? I was specifically against the Ruf trade at the time, and noted how Eppler missed on the two things I thought mattered most (catcher and 6th/7th inning man), but I don't think he did much that made the team better, other than about the first 25 games of Vogelbach. Unless the Braves have decided to limp in to the finish, the only way the Mets are winning the division is if Alonso and Lindor carry them, or Vogelbach goes back to playing way over his head. Alonso's .621 OPS over his last 33 games and Vogelbach's .405 OPS (!) over his last 15 are not encouraging on that score.
