Don't really see the point to this - Given the acquisition of Vogelbach, where would he play? They would be much better off going after Contreras in my opinion.

Not that I think it really matters - I believe it's going to take a 2015 Cespedes-type effect at this point for the Mets to be good enough to beat the Braves or Dodgers to get into the World Series. That's obviously pretty unlikely, and the likeliest possibility is probably deGrom coming in and being deGrom.

The Mets are better than Atlanta and will prove it in the 12 remaining games against them. Whether that is enough to maintain the division lead over them remains to be seen.

I don't understand your point. The only way the Mets could prove they are better than the Braves and that not be enough to maintain the division lead is if they are worse than the Braves against the rest of the schedule, which means they weren't better than the Braves to begin with. That's particularly true when you consider that the Mets' remaining schedule is considerably easier than that of the Braves.

Anyway, I obviously disagree. IMO, as currently constituted, the Braves are better than the Mets, and the only way that changes is with a trade effect a la Cespedes, or a miracle deGrom return. And neither team is as good as the Dodgers, anyway.

Looks like an Angels starter other than Ohtani might actually win a game today, keeping the Mets in first place.

Reigning champs > Mets until proven otherwise.

2nd and 3rd none out, don't score. 1/15 with RISP in the series. What a joke.

And of course the Padres score in the next half-inning. How often have we seen this this year.

He would be a $1b dollar athlete if he went to NY, especially Queens.
