Big, but lucky, win for the Mets. Bad fielding in the bottom of the 8th and terrible third base coach decision in the top of the 9th bring the win.
Terrible call on the field of a catch leading to a triple play. Has to be challenged and overturned, with a run in and men on second and third.
They recognize it wasn't a catch, but now they put the batter at first, another ridiculously bad call. Replay is a good idea, but why do they botch it up so often?
deGrom threw to live batters today. McNeil day-to-day with hamstring tightness, but no IL. X-rays negative on Davis' pinkie after being hit by a pitch. Scherzer with a good rehab start in AA (3 innings, 1 ER, 5 Ks).
Good luck against the Astros. I hate that team with a passion. Sucks that they play is a shit division. Pretty much a guaranteed playoff spot for them.
The catchers isn't too big of deal. We've gotten fantastic defensive production from McCann and Co.. Escobar on the other hand has been dreadful.
Escobar with two loser at bats his last two plate appearances. He needs to be sat down for a couple games at this point. Put JD at 3rd.
I wouldn't give up anything of significance with Alvarez waiting in the wings. I would rather go after and get 3 arms for the pen.
I think that's smart. It's not like the Mets have issues scoring runs. They really don't need Contreras.
We have this kid in Binghamton, Francisco Alvarez and he's kicking ass, he's only 20 but I'd still bring him up. I'd rather trade for pitching since ours are always hurt.
