Mayor Adams is giving an exception to all athletes and entertainers in NYC. Kyrie + all unvaccinated baseball players will now be able to play at home in the start of the season.
A spring training game worth checking in on on Sunday - deGrom starting (they hope for 3 innings), with Scherzer following in relief (they hope for the other 6). The game is on PIX11. No team has ever thrown two multi-Cy Young Award winners in the same game in the regular season, but it's unknown whether it has ever happened in spring training before. https://www.mlb.com/news/jacob-degrom-and-max-scherzer-to-pitch-in-same-game
Super curious to see what kind of player Mcniel is gonna be this year. Is he going to slap it around the field again or try and hit 30 home runs?
With Buck at helm, I think guys are going to be relaxed, not forcing anything during their AB. Instead of trying too hard, we will see more situational hitting and everything else will fall into place.
These guys deGrom and Scherzer looked pretty good today - I think that they'll probably make the team.
wtf.... tell Steve Cohen to put the world's best massage therapist on retainer.... just dont ask DeShaun Watson for references.
4 weeks shutdown. Reeval after that. Wacha had the same injury a few years ago and was out 3 months. Being optimistic, the earliest we will see him is MDW
Last year, the media and fans were making a big fuss over all the 100+-mph fastballs deGrom was throwing. Looks like it caught up with him. The human arm can take only so much. It's a shame because he seems like a good guy and he was sure fun to watch.
and all these years I thought a "stress reaction" was my girlfriend getting pissed at me when I come home drunk and start blasting Iron Maiden in the garage....
I hope Jake enjoyed those few months of being the best pitcher of (at least) the last 60+ years, because it seems like it might very well have ended up destroying his career.
