And now a single and a home run, and the Braves are up 3-1 with only one out in the bottom of the first. If deGrom isn't overpowering, what else do the Mets have?
Struck out 3 in a row. Maybe it will be smooth sailing for him the rest of the way? It would be nice if the offense can do something.
Lugo with moronic play puts a runner on second with none out. Like I said earlier in this thread, it really is amazing how so many major leaguers really have no clue how to play baseball.
Are they kidding? Guillorme would have beaten Acuna to third easily. He also should have been thinking that he goes to third on any ball hit in that direction. Instead he tries to make a much harder play that had very little chance of succeeding. More evidence of not thinking out there.
Here's another take, Dom: if it wasn't for three starters pitching at a level that is much better than they have ever pitched before (and yes, that includes Jake, who has been other-worldly, rather than just a Hall of Fame level), the team would be a lot closer to the bottom of the division than the top of the division. There is every reason to believe that there will be some regression to the mean for all three of the them (the last two starts for deGrom have obviously been that already).
I can't stand the subway series. My hatred for the Yanks is so strong that any loss gets multiplied tenfold.
