The Mets have lost 6 of their last 8, scoring 13 runs in those 8 games (and only 4 in the 6 losses). They still have a four game lead, but how long can that last when they're running out of players?
With Stro out you would have thought the Braves were gonna put up 10 runs, but no pitching still kept us in the game. However, another game another shutout.
The new guys McNeil and Conforto 4 for 7 with 3 runs scored and 1 RBI. They look like they might be guys who can play.
Second and third, none out, in the bottom of the first, and Nola strikes out the next 10 batters to tie Seaver's record. At least Alonso broke it up with a double so The Franchise still has a share of the record. Of course, Seaver struck out the last 10 in the game, so who knows how many more he might have had if it was earlier in the game?
Shocking comeback - I didn't think they had it in them. It does help that the Phillies bullpen is terrible.
