A lot of people believe that he was so good in Cleveland 2 years ago because the AL Central was a dogshit division with trash pitching. Imagine getting to beat up on those teams 19x a year..

excellent point dawinner. He got fat on a lot of shitty pitching...classic stad padding situation.....or put another way, he got fat on a lot of meatballs that were lobbed straight down the middle of the plate, going up against those pitchers lol.

Not worth starting a thread over it, but a top candidate for the worst contract in history is finally over - the Angels have designated Albert Pujols for assignment.

Just in time for Lindor to pick up the mantle? (Kidding, kidding .... I hope)

An amazing Pujols tidbit: he is the only player in MLB history with 3000 hits, 600 home runs, and multiple World Series titles. (Mays, Aaron, and Alex Rodriguez each won only one.) (A sentence with Mays, Aaron, and A-Fraud in it. Why does the Sesame Street song "One of these things is not like the others" keep running through my head?)

Mets end up splitting the series (4-3 road trip), despite setting a club record with 17 runners left on base.

Peterson doing a fine job of putting the Mets out of the game by the second inning. He looks like Rick Ankiel out there.

Lindor with his first big moment as a Met?

Please try not to waste it, Mets.

    WTF?

Well, Lindor immediately hit a big home run, so keep on smacking him, McNeil.

Here is Lindor's chance to really cement himself as a Met.

Edit: Wow, way to come up super small, Francisco. How the hell can he think that trying to lay down a sacrifice bunt was the right play? SMH.

If Lindor was given the bunting sign fire the manager. If he bunted himself send Jeff after him again, $300+M to do that?

I have to admit, I think it is kinda cool how the NY Mets thread is basically three die-hard Mets posters (NYGalPal, StatJeff and Savatage) discussing the Mets and the games amongst themselves night after night. I guess you guys are the only Mets fans on the Jets board, and everyone else is a Yankees fan?! lol

Here we go with the runner at 2nd base nonsense.
