Nice Little League (7 innings) doubleheader sweep.

Have to give Rojas credit for a smart managerial decision in the first game yesterday. In the top of the 8th, when bringing in May to pitch, he double-switched with Dom Smith, who had made the last out of the 7th. Normally Smith would have started the bottom of the 8th on second base (since it was extra innings), but because it was the pitcher who would have been put on second, it reverted back to the previous hitter, which was Lindor. Lindor scored easily on Alonso's single, when Smith (who is of course much slower) might not have. I suppose that happened some time last year with some team, but I hadn't heard it before, and it was a smart move.

That's idiotic too. I'm telling y'all Rob Manfred doesn't even like baseball.

People want more action? Get rid of the shift. Make your athletic 2B or SS run and dive to make a play. Let them go use their athletic ability.

That might be their best all-around game of the season.

I posted this on here before and got booed off the stage. Ha

in past Mets players news so far

I don’t get why they didn’t let Jed get his knee surgery. Not like he was on the field playing anyway.

Weather not looking good for today’s game.

Not crazy about deGrom having to pitch in a blizzard today. They should have made Wednesdays game a DH vs Philly instead of just allowing Thursdays game to be rained out.

All sorts of further bad details coming out about a toxic workplace at the Mets. I was against Cohen hiring Alderson at the time, and now it seems even more ridiculous that he did so. The #1 priority for Cohen should be to eradicate everything that relates to the Wilpons' horrific ownership of the team, and at this point #1 on the list is getting rid of Alderson.

Back to baseball, the Mets brought the bad weather with them to Denver. Game postponed, Little League double header tomorrow.

Wanting to move the mound back, double hook DH. Is there a Professional sport that tinkers with its rules as much as Baseball? Just changing things arbitrarily. Leave the fucking sport alone! The rule changing doesn’t attract new viewers just pisses off the people who actually love the sport.

deGrom sets a career high of striking out 9 straight batters, ending up one short of Seaver's MLB record on a ground ball to second that McNeil makes an error on.

Of course, meanwhile, he only has a 1-0 lead in the bottom of the 5th.

And then Conforto misplays a long hit, and the game is tied 1-1. Watch Jake lose this game thanks to the incompetent boobs on this team.

So predictably, a terrible throw on a short fly ball by Conforto, and the run scores. Almost guaranteed that deGrom is going to lose this game now on these unearned runs.

Home run (another unearned run) makes it 3-1. This game's over.

Amazing, Alonso HR in the 6th, single and a double to lead off the 7th, and the Mets tie it up!

Two more hits and the Mets are ahead on the Lindor RBI. It'll be up to the bullpen, so you need more, Mets.

Diaz strikes out the side, and the Mets win their fourth in a row. 17 of the Rockies' last 19 outs were on strikeouts. Jake gets a break from his teammates and wins a game like we haven't seen in years.
