I like Matz. I think he has shown some ability just hasn't been able to put it all together. Good luck to him!

Getting three prospects for Matz, considering how bad he's been since 2017 (4.84 ERA, 1.414 WHIP), is highway robbery, and that's true even if Matz turns it around and the prospects don't pan out. This opens up $5 million in salary as well. It's a shame it didn't work out here for him, and I wish him nothing but the best, but he hasn't been good for quite a while.

I would put it at at least 50/50 that the Mets sign Bauer - I would guess around 3 years / $110 million. Having said that, there are still other moves possible, whether they sign Bauer or not. Cohen hasn't given any indication that the luxury tax is an issue for the team, but that would seem to be the only reason for them not to go all in on a contract offer for 2 or 3 years.

Looks like your new owner belongs in prison after what he did for his hedge fund today.

Cohen should tread lightly when it comes to social media. Don't get into battles you can't possible win.

The truth is all of corporate America belongs in jail. We don’t see the half of the crooked things they do.

Mets would have won the WS if anyone else produced a 1/4 of what Daniel produced.

Murphy was actually terrible in the World Series (.150/.320/.150 BA/OBP/SLG split) - Conforto (.333/.313/.733) and Granderson (.250/.360/.700) were the only hitters who had a good Series. It was the playoffs in which Murphy was unbelievably good (.421/.436/1.000).

I believe they were batting around him because everyone else was so bad.

They were like 1-15 with runners in scoring position.

They were pitching around him (5 walks), but he was also terrible (3 singles and 7 Ks in 20 at bats). Cespedes carried them to the postseason, Murphy carried them to the World Series, and nobody carried them any farther.

I believe Mets offered Bauer a short term deal, 3-4 years.

Cohen has deleted his Twitter account. Says his family is getting death threats.

On the surface it just appears that he bailed out a friend. I read nothing that suggest that he was responsible for the actions of Robin Hood. Unless something else comes out. If I had his money I’d go after Portnoy and Barstool. They have been reckless and making baseless accusation. Just going after him with no proof of any wrong doing on his part.

Portnoy clearly agrees with you - all it took was one Cohen tweet response denying the accusations and he completely backed off. I also agree with you - if I were Cohen I would sue their asses until they were wiped out. It's truly amazing to me how people think they can say anything they want to say about anyone. and it's "First Amendment free speech." No. it isn't, and some people need to be slapped hard to be reminded of that.

He should but he probably won’t. The annoying thing is this has nothing to do with the Mets but the “know it all’s” on Twitter & Facebook tried to make it an issue. I guess they miss the Wilpons. Fools.

Looks like Callaway is on his way out in Anaheim - already suspended, and the Angels have said that they expect that the investigation will not take very long.
