Porter worked under Theo in both Boston and Chicago, so my hope is that this makes it more likely that in a year Alderson moves out and Theo comes in to be President of Baseball Operations.

Or Porter excels at his job and takes over for Sandy.

He's been on a downward trajectory.

I'm sure the Rockies "want to engage" with the new multibillionaire owner of the Mets. Arenado was terrible in 2020, but was pretty consistent before then at a Scott Rolen-type level (once you take the ballpark into account). He can opt out after next year, but if he doesn't the team is on the hook for 5 more years at around $35 million per year. This is all about a salary dump by Colorado, and Alderson/Porter would need to make clear that the Mets won't be giving up anyone they would actually want to have on the team.

I hated the Wilsons because they were cheap, but I don’t want new ownership to be taken advantage of either, especially if he was a byproduct of the stadium he plays in. Hopefully this management does not take on unnecessary salary dumps.

No need to rush the process of building a team.

Mets avoided arbitration with Syndergaard, as he signs for one year at $9.7 million. He'll be a free agent after the 2021 season, and is expected to be ready by June.

As for me, I have zero expectations regarding him. If he's better than mediocre I'll be surprised.

Heard on Christmas Day that the Mets were hella close to signing Springer @ 5 for 125 but have not seen anything since.

Looks like AJ Preller wants to win executive of the year.

I think us signing Springer is a foregone conclusion. I'd be shocked if that doesn't happen.

Is this the best thing to tweet? When talking to other teams we will be like we'll give you so & so.. The teams response shouldn't be hey even your owner think these players are garabge. lol Even though he only typed up the obvious.

    Lindor and Carrasco is huge.

Needed another starting pitcher and they got a superstar shortstop in his prime.

That's a big move with Carrasco too, are they sending the whole farm? What happens to Rosario?

I think with the addition of Carrasco we are out on Bauer. I hope we still get Springer

    Wanted Lindor on the Yankees.
