Money and a sensible baseball man at the top. I don’t know this team.

I honestly would have kept Omar on for scouting but I’m gonna trust the process! I’m excited!

As I said weeks ago, when Alderson was hired it was obvious that BVW was out.

He signed deGrom to a long-term contract, and the Diaz/Cano trade was much less of a disaster this year than it was last year (of course, signing JD Davis looked a lot better in 2019 than it did in 2020). You can give him credit for trying to improve the Mets bullpen, but wow, was he a failure at that.

Without knowing who is going to replace him, to me it's impossible to evaluate this decision, other than from the point of view of trying to Febreze the hell out of the Wilpon stench the first day he could do it. Meanwhile, who is going to be negotiating with free agents?

Are you surprised they didn’t fire the Manager? Or they are gonna wait for the GM to make that call?

We needed a closer and Diaz was the right target, but the fact that he gave up a great prospect for salaries Seattle wanted to dump, and couldn’t get Seattle to pay more of Cano’s contract, was the abject failure of that trade.

I wish Cohen would buy the Jets from the Johnsons...

Now that the cheater managers have been rehired (except Beltran, of course), there isn't anyone out there that jumps out as a great candidate. It's hard to tell from 60 games, especially under such bizarre circumstances, but I thought Rojas didn't distinguish himself either way this year - he was neither impressive nor unimpressive. The professor in me says that he got an incomplete for the year, and will get a chance to get an official grade next year.

Speaking of Beltran, he must be pissed that he's the only Astros player who is still paying any sort of price for cheating. Not that I care or anything.

Serious question, do you think the Astros former GM (Luhnow) gets a second chance?

Im not a big analytics fan but I understand where baseball is heading and he did a good job with that aspect of the game.

If it’s true that he knew nothing about the cheating then it wouldn’t hurt to give him a second chance.

What’s your opinion? Or any fellow met fans for that matter.

0% chance he gets another gig. He was already a douche before this entire scandal happened so pile this on top of him? No shot.

Love this. Hire the guys. Get out of the way. Sandy said Luis most likely back in 2021.

You know that's a double positive for the Mets. They're going to spend, and on the other side other teams are in financial purgatory and are going to be unloading salary and not pursuing free agents

Saw a report on twitter (can't remember what beat writer it was from)

After the Steve Cohen presser, there was a free agent player who said CALL THE METS now

Steve Cohen was as impressive at his intro press conference as Adam Gase was unimpressive at his.

So can anyone confirm Jeff Wilpon was physically removed from the premises and all the locks and phone numbers were changed ???

I was 95% sure he would accept the offer tbh.
