I hope Cohen suddenly walks away, "Sorry Jeffrey Baby, I have second thoughts, BYE!!"and then gets begged to come back for another $500,000,000 less
And all of us Mets fans are waiting for that weird f'd up thing to happen.... until it does, let's think of some possibilities. How about, the condition of the sale this time is that Jeff becomes GM.
I like the results but the reality is the Mets needed to pull multiple rabbits out of their hat to beat a team decimated by injuries. Hopefully magic tricks keep coming this weekend.
I blame the 1st game today on the manager, why put a guy out there that is on his 3rd day in the last inning? The D didn't hep either but the RP was shot and it was clear to anyone watching. Diaz pulled a Diaz, we expect that so no surprise there. I hope Cohen cleans house and puts quality people in place. I'll throw my hat in the ring for GM.
Well, its about time BVW started getting some heat for this shit show. Hopefully if Cohen buys the team, BVW goes first followed quickly by Rojas. Then the new guy gets to start over with yet another rebuild of the pitching staff and BP.
Tell me why this scrub Castro has been put into high leverage situations when he hasn’t earned it. He is awful, yet another Brody screw up. Cohen needs to fire his ass right away.
Cohen has apparently reached an agreement to buy the Mets in a deal that values the team at $2.475 billion. All that is necessary is approval from MLB. SNY is not part of the deal. https://www.newsday.com/sports/baseball/mets/steve-cohen-mets-sale-wilpons-1.49325312
Fucking idiot McNeil runs into an out for no reason and costs the Mets a run. This is a team of complete morons who don't have a clue how to play baseball.
Yeah, but, I love the way he plays. Our issue is the morons running the team. This season was over last week. Hopefully, Cohen fires Boobie ASAP and we get a legit GM.
The Mets haven't had a manager who could make them care about fundys (as Keith would say) in decades, and Rojas is no different. It is infuriating. You don't need to be talented to throw to the right base, not make baserunning blunders, change your hitting approach based on the circumstances, etc. - you just need to have an understanding of the game every 15-year-old fan should have (and 50 years ago did have - can't say anything about today). I am all in favor of a clean sweepout of the stench of everything Wilpon-related. Unfortunately that won't matter much if Alonso, Porcello, Wacha, Matz, Gsellman, etc. are really this bad. Whoever is GM is going to need to spend lots of Cohen's Point72 money to turn this around. An interesting footnote to this terrible year is that Cano and Diaz are actually having good years, and hardly anyone has noticed.
deGrom gives up 3 runs in the second inning and then doesn't come out for the third (after getting no Ks in the first time through the lineup for the first time in more than 100 starts). Who would be surprised if he doesn't make the last two meaningless starts of the season? I expect Wheeler to win this game about 8-0.
Wheeler gives up 3 and then JD Davis gets his third RBI against the Phils bullpen and the Mets shockingly tie it up 4-4.
Mets pull ahead in the top of the 9th, but then once again run themselves out of getting more with moronic baserunning. Major leaguers who have no clue how to play the game at its most basic level.
