He’s putting in Diaz with a 5 run lead and two runners on.

I can't believe Keith was stupid enough to chastise the Mets for running Alonso with first and third in the ninth up 6-0. It's baseball, you idiot - there's no clock. Have you forgotten that this is a team that blew a 6-run lead in the 9th two-and-a-half weeks ago?

Gary with the excellent differentiation between Mighty Mouse and Underdog.

Not to mention they just walked him which some would interpret them still trying to win. Though I interpret it as pettiness.

Familia off to a fine start, hoping to help the Mets break their own record of biggest ninth inning lead ever blown.

That's that. Cubs and Phils lose, Brewers with the big lead, Nats up by 2 in the 9th.

If that happened the Mets would be 89-73. The team to beat would be Washington - 4-6 finish for them gives it to the Mets (unless the Cubs go 7-1 or 8-0), 5-5 results in a play-in game. Nats just won, by the way.

Cubs continue their collapse, which makes me happy. Brewers continue their amazing play after losing Yelich. Nats have turned it around, which pretty much kills the chances of the Mets and Phils. Oh well.

Brewers (!) and Mets win, Cubs (!) and Nats lose. Cubs 3.5 behind both with 7 games left, Mets 4.5 behind with 7 games left, Phils 5.5 behind with 9 games left. Long odds indeed.

He turned down $200 million for 8 years before this season, so the Mets can only do this if they have an agreement in place, I would think. He's a lifetime 133 OPS+ guy - is he worth what they would need to pay him? (FYI, Conforto's OPS+ is 124.)
