Christian Yelich has fractured his kneecap and will be out for the rest of the season. Incredibly tough blow for the Brewers.

Padres draw three straight walks to walk in the game winner in the 10th after giving up 3 in the 8th to tie the game.

Hard to imagine after losing 6 straight. Hopefully Alonso can beat Judge's record at the same time propelling the Mets into the playoffs. Of course they will have to beat the dodgers though. Good luck.

Nice first inning for the Mets. Up 5 - 0 after one.

Tied with Milwaukee. Given all of the ups and downs and disasters it’s been hard to get excited about this, but that really isn’t fair - it’s September 12 and the Mets are playing very meaningful games. Absolutely no one would have predicted that at the All-Star break, or even a few weeks ago.

Still think Callaway is an awful manager, though ....

Get the sweep today then take 2/3 vs LAD and let's get this party started. You got Thor + deGrom vs Kershaw and Ryu. Should be a fun weekend.

You have to assume Stroman is due for a strong outing. I equally feel good about Darvish throwing for the Cubs.

In you didn’t see it, Mets with 9 runs and 11 hits on 9/11.

Unfortunately what is more likely is that he'll pitch the way he's pitched since he got here - that is, pretty poorly (5 IP per start, 5.05 ERA, 1.738 WHIP). I was all in on this trade, but he has been a gigantic disappointment. And I don't really understand the shot at Darvish - over the last two months (9 starts) he is averaging more than 6 IP per start, with a 2.93 ERA and a 0.886 WHIP, all vastly better than Stroman has done.

Just as Stro is due for a good outing, Darvish is due to come back down to earth.
