I hate to utter these words, but I’m rooting for the Nats in the series against the Cubs. We have enough games left against the Nats to get them head to head if we stay within striking distance. But we’ve got to get into that second WC position first.
I wonder why everyone have white hats, but Jacob has a black one. Ok they said a pitcher can’t wear a white hat because it’s a distraction to the hitter.
Another money grab by MLB to sell more shirts and hats. This time in "honor" of "Players' Weekend." There is no indication that anyone or any charity benefits from the additional merch sales except MLB. The players benefit every game - why do they need a weekend named for them? I also wondered about deGrom with the black hat; if the batter can see the ball coming off the rest of the pitcher's uniform, why not the hat?
Hopefully that was his turning point. Come on guys figure out a way to get that winning run across the plate!
Well, this has certainly felt like a classic Familia outing, and that's not a compliment. Mets pitchers tie a major league record with their 26th strikeout.
Not even gonna be harsh against Familia. This lost is on the offense. Right now the Braves own the Mets.
Ryu got rocked by the Yankees. If Jacob keeps pitching like this it's not absolutely crazy that he could win another Cy Young.
Starting to believe that everyone takes their foot off the gas when Jake starts. “Oh we have the best pitcher in baseball on the mound. We don’t need anything more than 1 or 2”
The last couple of Wheeler starts have not be pretty. Mets vs Braves has been so one sided. To think the last 3 games of the season are going to be against them.
Funny, because those ridiculous Storm trooper helmets don't distract the pitcher at all I'm sure and Umps being the exact same color as the fielders doesn't distract the hitter. This black & white theme is worse than NFL color rush. The white ones are horrible, you can barely read the names on the back. It's like looking into the sun. Hopefully we never see this again.
As I said before the Cleveland series, I’m good with where we are at. At worst we will be 2.5 back going into the Cubs series, but still possibly 1.5. getting swept sucks but we’re still in great shape to be in the 2nd WC lead next week.
