Alonso, McNell, Rosario, deGromm, Wheeler and a still-cool theme song.

    But that GM's for hunger..

Funny, after they lost the first game to Miami I said to a friend "If they don't win 25 of their next 30 it's over." I guess now I can say "If they don't win 21 of their next 26 it's over," which is an improvement (.808 winning percentage versus .833 winning percentage)!

As annoying as that game was, the bullpen pitched like 8 scoreless innings. That's simply insane!

Obviously no one can complain about the bullpen in that game, but doesn't it seem highly appropriate that they didn't simply give up the winning run in a tie game, but rather waited until the Mets had a lead before blowing it? That way you don't just get a loss, but a blown save, too!

And while the occasional home run is nice, Alonso has looked absolutely awful since the All-Star Game (.115/.207/.346).

Usually the HR derby ruins sluggers until they go back into "contact mode".

I've never seen actual numbers about it, so I hesitate to say it definitively, but there's a reason I said I hoped he didn't participate in the Home Run Derby back on June 23rd. So far I've been very right.

I see that we're back to last season - brilliant pitching, no hitting.

Alonso 0/4 with 3 Ks. Time to sit him down for a game or two.

And a walkoff loss on a pathetic error. And yes, that's Smith's fault, but it's also yet another pathetic defensive job by Rosario, running almost into Smith's lap when it was never his ball and he never had a chance to catch it. He has the worst instincts of any supposed major league shortstop I've ever seen.

    No doubt they're sellers now.
