Good example of why I never thought the strategic decision to let people steal second base with a runner on third was as good an idea as managers seem to think, especially with a fast man up at bat and you playing the infield back. Obviously I'm happy that the Mets swept the Nats, but I don't appreciate the narrative that the SNY guys are pushing about "what a difference 72 hours makes," as if these four games show that the lousy season up to now is somehow a mirage. Sorry, Callaway was a crappy manager four days ago, he's a crappy manager now, and he'll be a crappy manager next week. If this sweep somehow saved his job that's a bad thing, not a good one.
