Is Callaway purposely trying to lose?? Holy shit he is bad at making pitching changes.... No reason to stick with Lugo as long as he did with Familia barely getting any work the other night. The Mets aren't good enough to overcome this type of stupidity on a nightly basis. They've been fortunate so far.

Ridiculously lucky win for the Mets as two hard hit line drives turn into three outs.

Oh my goodness this guy man! Why is he predetermining the game to the degree he does without any flexibility to what the scenario of the game mandates? Seriously he’s awful. He’s gonna cost us some games. He really is the worst manager ever!

If Lugo has been sick the last couple of days why work him the way he has?

Yeah, it seems pretty obvious that when it comes to x's and o's Callaway is in way over his head. Unfortunately he's no better than he was last year, which means he's not very likely to ever get any better. It sounds like he's trying to use his coaching staff as his "executive committee," which is a good thing, since they'll be fully up to speed when one of them replaces him in July or August.

Callaway is a terrible manager and Ron Darling is a self-righteous, white knighting douchebag.

If Jake is going to hit home runs it's just not fair to the league! Laser beam double by Pete to make it 3-0. Three runs for deGrom is amazing - hopefully the rest of the game goes the way we'd expect.

What the fuck is Cano doing? He's been bad both at bat and in the field since the first game.

Not a bad way for Jake to finish, striking out the side. 7 IP, 0 R, 3 H, 14 K, 1 BB. Pretty, pretty good.

Avilan and Gsellman doing a fine job of blowing a six-run lead.

Diaz ends it and Jake gets the well-earned win. Mets head home at 5-1.

Lugo has been terrible. Not sure why Callahan keeps riding him so hard in important late game situations. He should be a 6-7th inning guy at best.

Didn't think it was possible for me to hate Familia more than I did the first time around, but life is full of surprises, I guess.
