I’m on the verge of quitting watching sports altogether, seriously want to make good use of my time.

Not to be morbid but my friend had a Heart Attack at work today, 48 years old.

He was fortunate it happened with people around, otherwise he would be dead.

deGrom wins the Cy in a landslide! Fourth Mets pitcher ever (Seaver X 3, Gooden, Dickey, deGrom).

Tony deGrom deserved a first place vote for fathering Jake more than Scherzer did.

Does Mickey make it the complete season or does Jim take over at some Point? This screams interim manager situation.

I think you’re absolutely right, and if you’re asking me for my odds, I’d put it at 60/40 that he won’t complete the season right now. If the Mets don’t do a good job in free agency or if they make a bad trade involving Syndergaard I’d make it more like 85/15.

Yes, I’m very unimpressed with Callaway at this point.

So supposedly we are interested in Cano?? We get Cano for 5 years and that close of Seattle's who can be a stud. Mariners would pick up $10m/year of Cano's $24/year as well. Thoughts?

The trade I’ve seen proposed looks worth it.

Is it? $14/year for Cano is a lot when you KNOW he is going to decline. He got busted for PEDs last year so now either one of two things happen
    1) he’s back on the juice and gets a year suspension
    2) he’s off the roids and his production drops

If we weren’t the equivalent of the royals in payroll at ~150ish i would say okay but $14/year is a huge portion of the payroll for us. We saw how bad Wright’s contract crippled us.

I’m looking it at it from a 2-3 year window. If he plays up to par in those years at $14 mil he’s a steal.

I’ll worry about the last two years when they come. If he helps ascend us to a World Series team in that three year window, and the team sees increased revenue for that success, those last two years will be paid for, not to mention hopefully an increased budget.

Jeff Wilpon will be spiking Cano's cheerios with anobolic steroids so he gets a lifetime ban and they don't have to pay him anything

Cano age, steroids, this feels like it would be a mistake.
