Just want to clarify I do not wish anybody to get hurt from any team, was just a jab at American League baseball (which you seem to have understood),but just wanted to clarify. Last nights game was the epitome of why National League ball is a better game. Chris Young comes up to bat, hes pitching a great game but hes getting tired, theres two outs and 2 runners on. The National League predicament: Do you keep your pitcher who is pitching well in and hope for the best, or do you pinch hit for him and bring in a reliever next inning. Terry hopes for the best and it pays off, Chris young gets an RBI single, but then Young goes out and bombs in the next inning. The end result was totally ironic, but the predicament is a huge part of baseball to me, and that is something AL ball forsakes. That aside, I am infinitely pissed the Mets lost last night, I would have felt so much better about tonights game if we won last night. Now Im not so sure.
just heard on WFAN there are a bunch of empty seats due to the joys of sunday night baseball (said sarcastically) doesn't make a lot of sense, because tickets I think were selling on the secondary markets for well above face value.
What do you want him to do? Trade Duda or Torres or Valdespin for someone else's piece of shit relief pitcher? The teams that suck will not trade their good relievers till late July.
Torres with a big hit off Fatso after looking awful in an earlier at bat. Also, Frank (Fucko) Francisco has been placed on the DL.
Well, they ended up 11-14 during the 25-game stretch, not the 13-12 I was looking for to be a "legitimate" contender. I think that's actually about right - unless and until they get the bullpen at least up to bad (from the current absolutely atrocious) they really have very little chance against the good teams. They certainly need to take at least 2 of 3 from a truly horrible Cubs team.
Citifield is a band box Ooops, just having a little fun fellas. Good series. Now we can get back to normal baseball
Christ if we made anymore errors......Can we just put Duda at first base and end the farce of having pretend to be a RF....he isnt..he is a 1st baseman....
Horrible call on a pickoff gets Davis thrown out of the game. Tejada then makes a good stop on a ground ball and throws the ball away giving the Cubs another run. The real point is that this is another embarrassing game for the Mets, and Collins has to take some of the blame for the incredibly bad fundamentals of this team. The Mets might actually get swept by the worst team in baseball. This may be the time that the wheels really come off.
Well, Bob Ojeda just said it - it's not (just) the losing, it's the defense, the baserunning, the attitude at the plate, Davis bumping the umpire after the bad call, etc. This is as embarrassing and unprofessional as it gets.
